An important book for these disconnected times
A wonderful walk along the spiritual borderline between the human and animal kingdoms, only to discover that in many places the border has evaporated. The american indian sense of the sacrosanct in nature survives today, whilst in Europe it disappeared with the Age of Reason; reason killed our interdependence with nature, which we no longer hold in awe. A great book for over-reasonable people, who need magic in their lives.

Are you Homeless or Present?
All things on earth, sky, water, stars are faces of god. If there is no reverance, God is not exactly present. That's what I'm getting out of it. It fits with my Buddhist studies and general interpretation of....living,loving light.

A Shift in Perception
I read this book over 20 years ago. I have purchased many copies of the book and given it away to friends. I was stunned by it's ferocity and incite. This is a native woman's observation and perception of nature. It is steeped in the traditions of her Chickasaw heritage. Poetic and deep, it's never lost it's impact. I've re-read the book often, it never tires.
