Thanks to its multiple functions, the Extech EX622 400-Amp Dual
Input AC Clamp Meter provides you with the convenience of five
meters in one. The EX622 features a built-in non-contact infrared
thermometer, dual Type K bead wire temperature probes, and a
built-in non-contact voltage detector. In addition to measuring
AC current and AC/DC voltage, it also captures capacitance,
diode, and frequency readings. The ergonomically designed housing
has a comfortable grip for one-handed operation, and its
high-resolution LCD screen offers an easy-to-read view. True RMS
ensures accurate AC voltage and current measurements without
distortion from electronic devices.
Five Meters in One Compact Instrument
Ideally suited for residential electricians, HVAC professionals,
and automotive or marine applications, the Extech EX623 features
multiple functions so technicians can carry one instrument into
the field instead of several. The EX623 will measure AC current up
to 400 amps, as well as AC/DC voltage, frequency, resistance,
diode, and capacitance. Its wide-opening, 1-1/4-inch circular jaw
can fit around cables up to 500 MCM. The Extech also features
data hold and peak hold of current surges during motor startup
and other transience, "freezing" data in the display for longer
viewing. Additional features include functions for HVAC flame rod
current measurements and auto-ranging with manual override.
True RMS Prevents Distortion from Electronic Devices
It can be very difficult to make accurate current and voltage
readings in industrial and commercial applications when
electronic devices are present. Fluorescent lights, motor drives,
computer power supplies, and other electronic systems can distort
the AC waveform, making it hard for averaging meters to get an
accurate read. True RMS uses a more advanced formula to
compensate for this kind of distortion.
Dual Bead Wire Probe for Measuring and Comparing Temperature
The dual Type K bead wire probe is ideal for taking differential
temperature readings necessary for superheat measurements. Single
probes are perfect for checking air conditioners, refrigerators,
motors, bearings, pumps, and many other devices that emit heat.
Temperature can be measured from -4 to 482 degrees Fahrenheit
(-20 to 250 degrees Celsius).
Two Built-In Non-Contact Meters
Featuring a built-in non-contact infrared thermometer, you'll be
able to find hot spots quickly and safely, even when they're
invisible. The laser pointer helps you make sure that the problem
spots you're measuring line up exactly with what you can see. The
thermometer has an eight-to-one distance to target ratio. The
EX623 also has a built-in non-contact voltage meter with LED
alert.Large, High-Resolution LCD Screen For Easy Reading
Readings on the EX623 are displayed on large LCD screen with a
40,000 count to offer high resolution over wide ranges. For added
convenience, it has an auto power-off function, with an audible
alert and disable function. The Extech ergonomically designed,
double-molded housing is rugged enough to stand up to constant
use. Weighing less than 11 ounces, it offers a comfortable grip
for one-handed operation.
Product and Warranty Information
The Extech EX623 measures 9 by 3-1/10 by 1-9/10 inches (H x W x
D). The meter is CE certified, and an NIST certification is
available and applies to all functions except the IR thermometer.
The Extech EX623 400-Amp Dual Input Clamp Meter is backed by a
manufacturer's one-year limited warranty on parts and labor.
