I have very sensitive, dehydrated skin and this product is the first thing I reach for when it starts to get red, hot and itchy. It is a no-frills essence that is just 3 ingredients: water, mugwort and a preservative, that’s it. I think that is why it is something that I can tolerate when my skin is so angry and inflamed. I use it every day now, even when my skin is calm and not irritated. It is a watery consistency that absorbs very quickly into the skin and feels very cooling and moisturizing on contact. For me, it is a great beginning step right after I cleanse that calms my skin and preps it for my serum and moisturizer. For the days when my skin is extra angry, I will put this on periodically through the day. I almost wish it came in a misting bottle for this purpose! This bottle will last you quite a while which makes is a great value for your money as well. I have used it at least once (usually two or three times) a day for the last month and I am not even a third of the way through it. The packaging overall is very nice. I love the weight and feel of the glass bottle (it makes me feel kinda bougie) but just be careful to keep it away from the edge of the sink as it will break if it drops! Overall, this has become a mainstay in my skincare routine and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has sensitive and/or irritated skin.

If you have ever eaten japanese yomogi mochi/daifuku you are already familiar with this scent. The closest western description I can come up with is an herbal-pine scent. I am very sensitive to scents/strong smells and I find this very subtle and pleasant to put on the face after it the scent largely dissipates after a while. There is no stinging and the skin soaks it up without any lingering tackiness. I was hoping this would be good for my rosacea but did not use it long enough to know. Unfortunately, I forgot to check if yomogi is toxic to cats (my cat likes to rub my face with hers when she wakes me up in the morning) and I am scared it will upset her stomach if she ingests this so I discontinued using it.

I absolutely love this essence and this will become a staple in my routine. I’m 24, super oily and greasy, and very cystic/acne prone. This product helps calm irritation and inflammation from acne. I also use this after peels and it helps take the sting right out. It’s lightweight but has some slight moisture to it, so I use this after a watery toner or by itself. It also absorbs very well. There’s no fragrance in here, but it does have the herbal mugwort smell. I used to get this on Yesstyle years ago before it was offered on Amazon, but died buying it since it wasn’t easily accessible. Amazon has now made this accessible for me, so please keep selling this brand! I will definitely repurchase and try other products from this brand for sure!

When I purchased this,in spite of my misgivings, still hoping it might help combat the effects of winter weather on my gradually aging skin, I did not give in to my wishful imaginings wholeheartedly. It was an impulse buy. I was surprised when it worked. I was not expecting this to be as nice as it was. It feels wonderful and my skin has visibly improved in just a few weeks time. My skin is often sensitive to new products, so I was pretty cautious with it, the first few days. However, this is a very gentle product and I am glad I got it.

I got some sudden acne last month and I’ve been trying different products to make it go away. Let me tell you, this product is the holy grail for me. Apply it using a cotton to your whole face before any heavy creams or serums. After that rip up another cotton pad and soak in the mugwort toner, place it on your problem areas for 5 mins. This helped my acne calm down and the size changed in just one day and all my acne were calm by day 3. I am no doing the same method to see whether it is effective on acne scars. I can see a little bit of a difference, not much. But I’m still very grateful. Definitely worth the price!
