I looked at Dell OEM battery at $170 and decided to get this instead for my Vostro 1520. Cannot see me spending that much for a battery when I can get a new Vostro for $500-$600. The experience has been generally good.Pros:1. It works and the battery life is pretty good, comparable to the original extended battery.2. It fits perfectly. It extends out just like the original extended battery.Con:1. Has compatibility issues. If you boot with the power cable plugged in, Vostro rejects the battery and doesn't charge it. The workaround is to boot up without the power cord pluged in. Once it gets through the Bios, you can plug the power cord in.2. Once I left the battery run down completely and was not able to boot up. I did a Bios reset. Unlug the power cord and hold down the power button for 30 sec. Then I was able to charge the battery. For a couple of days it even went through the Bios check, but that came back.For the price, I can live with the cons. Definitely a good buy.

Price was right, and the battery works and charges fine. However I wasn't expecting it to be an inch wider than the factory battery. Perhaps I should have examined the measurements more closely. It sticks out past the body of the laptop about an inch or so. Not really a problem, unless you have a laptop case that's a tight fit or something like that. Just be aware this battery is not the same size as the factory battery. However, it does work.

Saved a ton of money over buying an OEM battery replacement. Get almost 4 hours of work time from the new battery. Per all the other reviews, it does extend off the back of the laptop. As a result, it doesn't fit in my laptop carrying case with the zipper closed anymore. Would still buy it again since I knew that before I bought it.

This was a replacement for an original Dell extended battery for a Vostro 1510. Shipping was fast and arrived before the stated date. The battery popped right in perfectly and locked, just like the original Dell. It started charging immediately without any problems. The capacity in terms of hours is as great, if not greater than the original Dell battery at something over 4.4 hours. I am very pleased with this battery and I did not encounter any of the issues some of the other reviewer had as to poor fit or not charging or capacity. If I ever need another replacement battery for this laptop, this is the battery I will buy.

I bought this to replace the original battery in my Dell Vostro 1310. I don't think I realized that it would be so much bigger. The size was not really a problem. It fits perfectly but does stick out about a half inch. But the extra half inch makes a great hand grip when the screen is open -- like the lip of a serving tray -- so it's actually an advantage!Functionally, the battery lasts at least 3 or 4 times as long as the original battery. To borrow a phrase, "it just keeps going...and going...and going..."

It will say you have about four hours, but if you time it, you don't. You might have an hour and a half, tops. We still keep the laptop plugged in, and would only rely on this battery in emergencies. The power goes out here often every winter, so we'd have to keep this charged and use the laptop sparingly.I'm new to laptops, so maybe I expected too much. But this doesn't give a person much in the way of mobility. Since the laptop is our main computer, now, we're still tied to a power source with this 95% of the time. I wouldn't buy this again, and I wouldn't recommend it to friends.

works fine, shipped with 58% batt power and my Vostro says it will last 4 hours on a 50% charge so it works great for me,also had no trouble getting it to fit into the slot in my laptop, and no other trouble.

I purchased this battery back in August of 2010. This was a replacement for my original Dell battery, which I got a little more than a year earlier. I'm not sure how long these batteries are supposed to last, but as of right now, one year and a half later, it can run for about 3 hours if I'm constantly on it. It has lasted longer than the OEM battery and it's a far better value. Recommended.
