Has potential
Wanted a 120V backup oven for use during power outages. As expected, this oven is too big for a typical residential kitchen. Having purchased and returned many disappointing ovens, this one has potential. My first point of inspection is always the rack system. All ovens have failed and this one is no exception. For such a solid oven the rack material seems a flimsy afterthought. The thin wire used in the side supports flexes dramatically; wouldn't want to pull out a 10 lb chicken and have it dumped on the floor. Although the rack material is inadequate, the design is good in that the entire rack system can be easily removed and stored where it won't cause harm to anyone. I simply put a stainless steel pan in the oven instead. Designers instead need to think about using solid U-channel metal with a stop tab so that the rack can't be accidentally pulled all the way out (like any standard kitchen range oven). Another annoyance is the humming generated by the oven's sheet metal housing when the fan is on, which it always is when the power is on. Putting hands on the sides/top of the oven stops it, but I need my hands for other tasks around the kitchen. A bit of ceramic blanket insulation under the sheet metal would be a more permanent solution. The top of the oven becomes hot, but much less hot than a typical toaster oven.
