Mul-T-Lock Junior Rim & Mortise Cylinder - 2 Keys, High Security, Brass

This is an amazing and affordable cylinder. I bought it to replace one in our apartment that we didn't have the key for. Installation was pretty easy. I used some of the parts of the old cylinder so it was less work on my part. I would definitely buy it again if necessary. It is definitely a high quality cylinder. It fit our door beautifully. I looks very and feels sturdy. Locking and unlocking it felt very smooth.

A locksmith made a hash of it when he installed a lock like this after we locked ourselves out of our apartment. His installation worked itself loose within a few months. I damaged his lock when trying to correct his errors, so I ordered this replacement, paying less than 1/5 the amount the locksmith charged - not including his labor. It took me about a day to install it myself. I tried to copy his installation first. I eventually figured out the locksmith had installed the bezel backwards, had not secured the backing plate to the inside of the door with mounting screws, and had not added washers to correct for the fact that the door was not completely flat. The lock now turns easily and does not bind. I am completely satisfied that this is a quality lock. I recommend that the seller include step-by-step installation instructions in his packaging for the non-locksmiths like me that wish to save a lot of money by self-installation.

With this mortice lock cylinder- its so easy to switch out, just two screws! Love the multi-key and security code to duplicate key. Seems very strong and the key moves smoothly. Yep, i recommend.

I used the lock previously 3yrs ago had no problems, Moved tried using it again but installer was inexperienced and broke screw off in cylinder So I purchased this cylinder & it was installed April 2,2024 within 20 mins with no issues Multi locks are the best

I purchased a Mul-T-Lock Junior cylinder for my apartment, simply because Mul-T-Lock says, “Can not make key copies without singed card for maximum security.” It was a great relief for me to have such a high security lock. However, my relief by Mul-T-Lock vanished one day. I lent my Mul-T-Lock Junior key to someone (of course, without the Mul-T-Lock security card). And months later I had to notice that this person had a duplicate of my Mul-T-Lock key and it is possible to make a key copy of a Mul-T-Lock Junior without its security card. This Mul-T-Lock Junior can be more disastrous than a regular lock such as Jimmy-Proof Deadlock in a sense. Imagine the following scenarios. A careful landlord of an apartment whose entrance door has a Jimmy-Proof Deadlock will change this lock or recommend his new tenant replace the Jimmy-Proof Deadlock even if his previous tenant returns the key when he vacates the apartment, because the landlord knows that his tenant could have made a copy of the Jimmy-Proof Deadlock if he would. On the other hand a landlord of an apartment whose entrance door has a Mul-T-Lock Junior cylinder will not change this lock and say to his new tenant that the key of this Mul-T-Lock Junior cylinder cannot be duplicated because of the Mul-T-Lock security card system and his previous tenant returned the key, if his previous tenant returns the key when he vacates the apartment, because the landlord trusts the word of Mul-T-Lock company that says it is impossible to make key copies of a Mul-T-Lock Junior cylinder without its Mul-T-Lock security card, though this word is false. It is advisable that the buyer of Mul-T-Lock Junior cylinder be aware of the above truth. I pointed out this hazardous nature of Mul-T-Lock Junior cylinder/key system to Mul-T-Lock company, who admitted what I pointed out.

The lock itself is a very good lock. The key says it all, and so far my neighbor hasn't walked into my apartment. I love it, so far so good. Used to replace cylinder in new residence. Keep card with key making code for locksmith. Additional keys more expensive than other types of locks, but worth it.

You are paying for quality, but make sure you can live with a lock that is so hard to get duplicates for. I don't think that many people need this feature. The tail piece is vertical, so make sure it is suitable for your lock, or it won't work.
