Samuel Windsor Men's Handmade Goodyear Welted Leather Cheltenham Brogue Shoe Brown, Black and Suede Brown.

I don’t normally bother to review anything I buy. Lazy because the first thing I do before I buy anything is to read the reviews. Basically I am one of life’s takers. However these shoes are so excellent that I feel I owe Mr Windsor a review. I don’t buy many shoes because when I buy they are expensive and last me years I have shoes older than my son who is 17. I buy Grensons and Loake and pay upwards of £150 a pair. As you would rightly expect those shoes are excellent and they last. These were much cheaper £50 ish I can’t recall exactly how much. I wasn’t expecting much for the price even though they were reduced from £100 I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for and buy cheap buy twice.I cannot explain how delighted I was ( I have a bit of thing about good shoes) when these arrived. Beautifully boxed and wrapped which I really like and as good as any Loake shoes I have ever owned. They are excellent quality, handmade, and exude craftsmanship and tradition all my favourite things. If you like great quality then buy these shoes. If you are a person who likes brogues with different colour panels, stupid colours, fades, or any of the other awful tripe that seems to be fashionable just now go any buy a pair of trainers and let us have our traditional style back. I’ve been wearing brogues since I was 16 (30 years) and they have always been unfashionable May those days return.Seriously though these shoes are top quality.

Lifelong brogue wearer, normally Loake or equivalent. They are hard wearing shoes and properly looked after a decent pair of brogues will last decades.I like to have a couple of pairs on hand so I had a punt on two pairs of these (these and the lighter brown suede) in October 2018. I started to wear this pair this July/August and the "suede" is already disappearing as can be seen from the pictures.They are comfortable enough and fairly well put together and strong but at this rate I expect to be ditching them as unwearable in a couple of months. This is not what I expect from a decent brogue.I only hope the same doesn't happen to my other pair when I start wearing them.Update Decenmber 21 - further erosion of suede, very visible n dry weather. Now discarded.

When shopping for shoes in shoe shops, I find that there are two types of shops, cheap or expensive and it's hard to find something in between.I want leather show with style and quality and don't mind paying a bit extra to achieve that. At the same time I don't want to go high end and pay high end prices.I ended up browsing shoes on Amazon and found these. They looked stylish and at full price they would fall into the mid-range bracket suggesting the quality was there. On top of that, these were in the sale and offered at less than half price. This looked like a win, win deal and despite being a little nervous about buying shoes without trying them, I placed the order.The shoes arrived a few days later all my criteria of quality and style were met. They came with a shoe horn and a spare pair of laces included. I've only ever had one pair of shoes before that included a spare pair of laces.The shoes are immaculate, with a decently thick sole and they are comfortable. As I am slightly between a size 6.5 and 7 I do tend to use an insole, so I have no problem with the fit either.In fact I'm think of ordering another pair of Samuel Windsor while the sale is still on.

Good quality and look smart. Knocked 1 star off as leather very stiff at outset. Bought for my son and they gave him a few big blisters before they were broken in.Knocked down from an original 4 stars to 3 stars, as my son found them a bit too uncomfortable when on his feet all day at work, so has had to get some extra inner soles. This led to another round of breaking them in, in different contact points, and new blisters.Comfort aside, they are smart looking.

I bought these with some trepidation to replace a pair of Size 14 Samuel Windsor Oxford toe-cap, semi-brogues, which were too tight to wear for more than a couple of hours, they were OK (just) for a funeral, or a formal dinner, but certainly would not do for an all-day wedding and party. That pair is now on its way to the charity shop, because these, also billed as Size 14, are so much more comfortable, being both longer and wider. The quality is excellent, and they come nicely boxed with spare laces and a shoe horn.

I am thrilled with these shoes. They have thoroughly exceeded expectations. They look terrific and I have had a number of unsolicited compliments for them. They are very robust and so clearly well made. Putting them on I feared that they were so hard and firm that they would take a while and some discomfort to break in. Nothing could further from the truth. After a couple of days they were like wearing slippers. I take a nine or ten but have ludicrously wide feet. These 9.5s fit like a glove. They gleam and the oxblood colour looks terrific with a navy blue suit.

I'm a bit fussy when it comes to shoes. Especially ones I need for work like these ones. I often pay the extra for high quality shoes i.e. Loake.. However, Samuel Windsor do a great shirt, so why not shoes. Turns out they are absolutely great. High quality, leather shoes that look fantastic and are exceptionally comfortable.. Worth every penny. I shall be purchasing the brown and black ones so that all bases are covered.

These are great quality shoes & the sizes are proper UK sizes, i was looking for a wide fitting pair of size 11 brogues but bought these & they are fine.. tight at first of course but not painfully so & after a few days use there's no sign of anything coming adrift which is more than can be said for other shoes i've bought on here. Shockingly good value even without the shoehorn & spare laces that are included.
