The Snail and the Whale Festive Edition

My daughter absolutely loves Julia Donaldson books, they are great little rhyming stories which she enjoys reciting to us and makes us read over and over again. Would definitely recommend adding any of her books to your collection. They have wonderful illustrations to support the story and are enjoyable for adults as well.

I have to say, Julie Donaldson is a fabulous kids author, both my children 3 and 6 love her stories, they are brilliantly illustrated and beautifully written. I have not found a bad one yet.

Perfect for 3-6 yr olds. Teaches that size does not represent strength & resilience & that community & hope makes a big difference.

Not sure if I'm writing a review for the book or for Amazon. Arrived very quickly. Beautiful book, my granddaughters read it every day they stayed with me and had to take it away with them when they left - I really miss it now, as well as my granddaughters of course. Might have to buy myself on.

One of our favourites. Its a nice read for me as well as our little ones. I really do like this author, we have many of her books. This one, the gruffalo and the gruffalos child are our regular reads.

"Back to the dock, and the flock on the rock."Need I say more? It's a pleasure reading this book to my son. The rhyming is so well done I enjoy it just as much as him. In our current pandemic I wish I could encounter a talking whale that would take me around the world, as aviation is both unsafe and a serious carbon emitter. Until such a whale exists however, I will settle for this book. Close call between this and Zog for my favourite book by this author.

My 3 year old granddaughter loves this story.it is a lovely story and beautifully illustrated.

I'm just discovering these beautifully written and illustrated books by Donaldson and Scheffler for my grandchildren - my son was a young man when they were first published. Looking at the text for The Snail and the Whale online, I wished that I hadn't ordered it as it didn't look like a good aural "read." But on receiving it I'm glad I did - it's a lovely out-loud read and story, and like all of their books the illustrations r full of relevant and red-herring - not so much in this story - detail w/o being crazy busy. Found out on Wikipedia that one of the school kid's drawings is of a Gruffalo! Also slight lesson about influence of human activity on sea creatures.

Bought this for my child. Can’t wait to read it! Neatly packed.
