Q: do you play music on this by cd's or can you use it wirelessly using a phone?

You can use any line level source, such as a CD player, ipod/iphone/mp3, computer, etc. but you need to plug into your source. No wireless capability built in.

Q: If i want to use multiple chromecast audio for multiple wireless zone management, would it work on this ? How many input channels is there ?

No, there is one stereo amplifier output for one speaker zone. It has two stereo inputs (in addition to AM/FM and phono) for connection of line-level sources.
