Poorly Designed, Poor Quality Materials and Workmanship
This copy stand was a huge disappointment on all levels. The first glaring problem is that you can't adjust the cameramount so the camera is pointing straight downward perpendicularto the base. The photos in the ad showing the camera mount notpointing perpendicular to the base IS NOT an optical illusion.I had to remove the camera mount assembly and grind someplastic stops off the back side to solve that problem.Design:-------There is considerable sideways movement of the camera mount when it's raised and loweredThe rack and gear are made of plasticThe rack is actually 2 short racks butted end to end (which were not properlypositioned at the factory, and adjustment across that barrier was anythingbut smooth, and would have put a lot of stress on the plastic gear). There is no locking mechanism for locking the camera heightThere is no ruler on the vertical supportIt's also poor design to have threaded steel adjustment shafts tighten bygoing into threaded plastic.Construction:-------------This unit even looks cheap when sitting in front of you. It's no wonderthe seller didn't really provide any good close-up views of the unit inhis product ad. Except for the base and the vertical support, everythingelse is cheap plastic, which makes me very hesitant about mounting my$300 camera on the unit. As stated, the 2 section Rack needed to berepositioned and the poor construction made that far more difficult thanit should have been. The holes in the support tube were not drilledexactly where they should have been, so my philips head screw driverhad to be inserted at an angle at nearly every point (which madekeeping it in the screw heads difficult during tightening). The quick-release mechanism and plate is real cheaply made as welland does not operate easily. And the pressure required to operateit causes sideways movement of the assembly it is attached to.I wasn't expecting outstanding quality at this price, but I wasexpecting a lot better than what I received. This thing is a poorexcuse for photographic equipment. The only good thing I can sayis that assembly was easy and straight forward.I don't know where this unit was made as the manufacturer wasapparently ashamed to put either their name or the country ofmanufacturer on the product. However, I suspect it's justanother piece of crap imported from C h _ _ _ .If I were the seller, I'd be ashamed to sell something like this.My recommendation: DON'T BUY THIS ITEM !!! You won't be happy with it!

Hot Garbage
Extremely flimsy construction; I can't imagine trusting this to securely hold my Nikon D5000. The item arrived with a broken part, which I can't hold against the seller as things happen, but it certainly speaks to how poorly this is manufactured. Also, there seems to be no braking system when adjusting the height of the camera on the mount, and the extremely light, flimsy assembly that (supposedly... I can't try it yet because it arrived broken) is supposed to hold the camera in position had trouble staying in place WITHOUT the camera attached. Run, don't walk away from this piece of garbage.

Very unsteady copy stand.
The media could not be loaded. This item is pretty much junk. I would not recommend. It is very shaky as you can see from the video that I posted. I can probably make it work for my purpose, but would not buy again.

This is the most wobbly, unstable thing I've ever used. It's mostly plastic, it's not level or true in any capacity, the height apparatus on the post slowly descends and does not stay in place. Spend your money elsewhere on something of higher quality.
