3M Marine Cleaner and Wax

Removes Oxidation from fiberglass on older boats left outside and leaves a really good waxed shine in one step. Cleans and protects newer boats. I own both! does not require a pro style angle buffer to apply or remove so you do not have to be concerned about fiberglass or surface burn as a result of leaving the buffer in one spot too long. I know because I've experienced both. Hand application and removal is sufficient for good results. sever oxidation may require a second application dependent upon the severity of the oxidation. The shine lasts a fairly long time. I usually follow up after a month with a Teflon polish to get a longer life out of the gloss. Apply in small sections overlapping the subsequent section for best results i have found eliminates missed areas. It's alittle pricey but I have found to be the best, most long lasting product I have used for over 20 years. I'd rather run the boat than clean and wax it. so twice a year I spend a weekend before and after the season and do both, my 22ft center console and my 36 Express. I like to fish! Wife likes to cruise. Both of us like a good looking boat. It's a great product.

This product, in combination with a Porter Cable 7424XP buffer, removed oxidation and cleaned up decals quite nicely. First, I washed the trailer with a detergent based, combination wash / wax product, then, using the PC buffer with a small amount of this clearner / wax (5 squeezes on buffer pad) for each 4 foot square, I was able to polish up the entire trailer in about 6 hours. The decals are old and fading, but this restored them as well as could be expected. However, on the actual trailer finish, the oxidation was completely removed and the trailer shined up nicely. The combination of this product and the buffer (Porter Cable buffer that came with tool worked better than Chemical Guys pads) really cleaned it up nicely!

I have been using this on my sailboat for years. I use it in the spring and in the fall just before I cover the boat for winter. For a long time, I had not done the “ bathtub “ part of the cockpit. Two years ago I started doing that part of the boat every spring and fall. This year this part of the boat is just as shiny and smooth as the rest of the boat that I have been doing for years.

I've seen allot of mixed reviews on this product thus wanting to share my experience. My boats is 11 years old and it has been maintained very well. It gets 2 wax jobs a year but this year I figured I'd do them myself to save a few bucks. After doing a ton of research I landed on 3M cleaner and wax. The boat sat out all of winter (tarp, covers and interior covered) and to get it ready for the summer we pressure washed the boat. Dried it with a sheepskin and I hand applied this product in 2 foot sections with a microfiber pad. Once the product was ready for removal I used a plus microfiber towel and it came off easily and left an amazing glossy/mirror like appearance. It even removed some bunje parks for the wind, light scratches, a few stains from rust. The areas that had a bit more scratches and oxidization I went over a few times until I was happy with the results. This product is a great start for any boat owner I highly recommend it. I did go over it once I finished with a Collinite wax for extended coverage

Used this stuff on my 1976 Bertram for the last 15 years, once a year. Keeps the gel coat clean and shiny without taking too much off. Best with a buffer and wool pads, 2000 rpm wet, then a different pad at 3000 to take the haze off and get a great shine. The wax is pretty good, but does not last all season on topside.

This 3M product removed very heavy oxidation from the front fiberglass cap on a large travel trailer. At the same time it removed the oxidation it also polished the surface and left a protective film that significantly reduced further oxidation. I tried to apply it manually by hand at first which was very difficult. I then I switched to a Porter-Cable Random Orbit Polisher and the application & removal of the 3M compound was much easier but still not a breeze. The great results made all the work very satisfying.I had tried several other name brand cleaner-polishes before using this 3M Cleaner & Wax but they would not remove the oxidation and left a very mottled surface after much work.

I use this on our travel trailer, boat, and Waverunner. Seriously have not found anything better. It took the black streaks off of the filon on our camper and restored the shine and color of the fiberglass. It made our old white Waverunner look much more shiny and also took off black streaks on it. Somehow our SUV got some sort of tree sap or really thick hard honey type stuff on it, and I could not find anything to take that off. I figured I would give this stuff a shot. to my amazement the goo came off and the clear coat was still good. It shined up great!
