Honey-Can-Do Tabletop Ironing Board with Retractable Iron Rest, Aqua Stripe

I had previously purchased a table top ironing board elsewhere. When I was attempting to set it up the black plastic tabs meant to hold the legs in place broke off, and the legs fell off on to my table. This Honey Can Do board came out of the box, unpacked, turned over, legs swung down and snapped into place. It folds back down just as easy. The entire frame, including the legs, moving parts and clamps are sturdy metal, screwed into place with good screws. The board is thick particle board. Good particle board so these days is wonderful. The pad and cover work fine for me as I iron cotton material on high heat, but the pad is not thick. The board doesn't move at all because of good quality plastic feet. The iron holder doesn't budge with the iron on it. I do say the iron holder is a little difficult to pull out and slide back in, but I think there is a knack to it I need to work out. The board is not super small if that's what you need. It's a good size table top ironing board that could be used to iron shirts and other clothing pieces. It is small enough to go on top of my sewing desk. I love it and highly recommend it.

This is a great table top ironing board. The price was so great that I couldn't pass it up and I'm glad I didn't. I bought it because I had to make 20 pairs of curtains and 4 valances. This held up nicely to all those hems and seams and headers that had to be ironed. The fabric on top is very nice. Soft and heat proof just as it should be. And the design is quite nice too. The inner layer of foam obviously protects the wooden base and it does a fine job of softening the surface and making it easy to get crisp lines with an iron at any temperature. The metal legs are easy to fold and open, and the latch works perfectly for both. The side thing for the iron to sit on is a little harder to get in and out, but I think that is a design flaw with the metal being so thin. I did not use this option as my new iron has to remain upright when in use and not in use, so for me it is really not a feature I need. The board folds up relatively flat so it fits inside my linen closet with plenty of room to shut the door. I am sure it will hold up for a long time since it held up under this week of extreme usage. Couldn't ask for better performance from an inexpensive table top ironing board. Highest recommendation!!

I have been wanting to get a smaller ironing board for years to do my craft projects! when I finally decided it was time to get one, the ones at walmart and target were somewhat cheaply made(been then a again most are..it's an ironing board not the statue of david!)but they wanted $20+ for them. So I decided to look on Amazon. Found a couple i liked, but thought an iron rest would be nice. Unless I want to spend $50+ for a fancy one, it was going to be run of the mill, which I didn't mind as long as it got the job done. I saw a couple of bad reviews for this and of course was hesitant since it was listed at a ver inexpensive price...so maybe it is junk? but got it anyway. I works wonderful! it was decently made as expected. the "paper" thin foam everyone is taking about is not "paper" thin! it's just as thin as any other ironing board and the cover has more than enough "padding" and others saying that their board warped? what? what are they using on it? 1000 degree iron? I have been using it for 2 weeks straight now with my very hot iron set at the highest setting since my projects need lots of heat....I can't even feel underneath getting hot, let alone very warm..there is plenty of padding in place...trust me...better padding than my large one I use to press my husband's dress shirts. trust me..this works fine! and it's been perfect for me to put on my craft table and leave it up always whenever I need to use it and not having to hear my husband say "when are you going to put that up?" anymore! love it!

Pretty great for under $10. It does what I need it to do. It's a good fairly large surface for ironing and the base is sturdy enough to hold some weight. The iron holder on the back is a really nice extra although it's kind of difficult to pull it out and push it back in. I also wish the large "foot" had some kind of rubber coating to keep it from sliding around on a table, but that can easily be remedied by sticking a towel or something similar underneath. Most importantly, it folds completely flat and takes up very little space in a small apartment. Overall 5 stars because it's cheap, practical and gets the job done. Are there better ironing boards? You betcha, but for less than $10 delivered to your door? Probably not.

I didn't know that I could feel so strongly about an ironing board, but this is GREAT! I was looking to replace a solid, old-fashioned wood board that my mom had given me, and chose this product. Having lived in dorms, I've experienced my fair share of tabletop ironing boards, and I found that the *one* thing I would be uncompromising on is stability. Let me tell you - though this board does not rest on four legs, it is very stable and does not bend (and I'm not a light ironer). The material that is used is something synthetic, which--in this case--is actually a good choice because it allows for quick drying when you use an iron's steam function. Additionally, this material does not hold heat for a very long time and does not melt easily (two obviously important considerations, especially when ironing delicate or heat-sensitive fabrics). Further, the fabric is very nice and taut, meaning that you won't receive wrinkles when you iron your clothing. Though I don't use it because I feel uncomfortable placing a hot iron face-down, the caddy/iron rest is a great idea, and I'm sure it's served people well. Lastly, in terms of storage, this product is great. I live in a small apartment, and it fits really easily between my dresser and the wall, making for quick and easy hiding.

The standard boards were so expensive even in my local shops, and quite honestly I don't really have that much room anymore, so this little dude is a godsend. It folds down quite a bit and although the whole thing seems pretty cheaply made and had some weird dirt/rock/carboard(?) bits on it when I opened it, it's worked great and was worth the buy. The cover fabric has started to burn/discolor slightly in some places, which is weird because the fabric I was working with is pure white and it didn't burn/discolor at all- so I'll probably end up making my own ironing board cover if this keeps up. TLDR: Kind of cheap feel but it gets the job done and overall it's been more helpful then not.

This compact ironing board is not bad for the price, but the quality control could use a bit of work. My issue: The stand of the unit has a swing-down bent wire "catch" that keeps the entire thing from folding up on you when you use it. This is attached on the bottom of the board using a plate with 4 screws and swings down to hook over and seat on one of the crossbars for the stand, not allowing it to "fold" back. If it worked correctly, it's a simple and effective idea. Unfortunately, the catch was not positioned correctly on my unit. As originally installed, I was unable to get it to seat on the crossbar at all to prevent the unit from folding back up from the slightest touch because the original positioning was too close to the crossbar it was supposed to seat on. I removed the screws myself and re-positioned the catch so that it connected with the crossbar to keep the unit from folding up while in-use. My first reposition try, I was able to re-use two of the holes. I'm not overly fond of drilling extra holes in something if I don't need to. Unfortunately, while this DID allow the "catch" to seat on the crossbar, it did not really seat that firmly. It is still too loose to be truly effective and I did have the board fold up on me a couple of times while I was attempting to iron. I was aware this might happen, and was paying attention, though, or I might have gotten burned. I ended up using the board folded flat on a table top for most of the ironing I had to do to prevent any "mishaps". I have not yet tried to reposition the catch again. It will need to move a very small distance to more firmly seat on the crossbar, which should keep the stand "locked" open. I haven't had time to mess with it, and since the board itself seems to be made from particle board, it will require careful attention to avoid overlapping the original holes and making the screws unable to "hold" any longer without filling them and starting from scratch. I'm also not sure how well the board will hold up to moisture long-term. The cover should prevent most of the moisture from making it through, but I suspect eventually it will start breaking down. Another consideration is that the stand for the unit is secured fairly far forward, so it hinders you from pulling something like a T-shirt over the underside of the unit so that you can iron one part of the top a single layer at a time. If it's a "long" shirt, it makes it impossible to lay it out flat because it will bunch on the stand legs. This is not so much a quality issue, as a factor of working with a "compact" model of this type. In other words, not a flaw, just something to be aware of. Other than that, the board feels sturdy, the cover is thick and looks durable, and the stand welds look solid. It was packaged in a shrink-wrap plastic which kept it clean and it was pretty much ready for use besides the catch being defective. It is a bit on the small side, as an XL T-shirt was barely able to fit (top-to-bottom) on the entire length (not with one side pulled under the unit). I had to reposition to get the top and bottom edges well pressed. The handy cage at the back end is great for a lighter iron to keep it from tipping over and burning a hole in your board cover or clothing item while you are not looking. It might bend if you have a heavy unit, though. I was unable to use the cage since the board was laying on my table without the use of the stand to keep it far enough away that the iron wouldn't heat up the underlying tabletop. It does fold out of the way very nicely, though. Conclusion: If you want something cheap and usable for the odd occasional ironing need with nice features (so long as they install them correctly), this is it. If you need to do a lot of ironing this may be a bit on the small side.

We rarely used our full size ironing board and when we did, it was a PITA to pull out and find suitable space to use it. My wife always wanted one of these table top, or in our case, bed top ironing boards. I purchased the one with the straight through U-shaped stand so it could be used on our bed and it works perfect. She loves using it and we keep it neatly tucked behind our dresser. The ease of use, space saving design and function make this a no brainer. It's sturdy and looks well made, so I expect it to last several years with our light, occasional use. It's big enough to iron a Men's L shirt or just about any article of girl's clothing. Highly Recommended.

I have nothing but good comments to say on this purchase. Just what I wanted, a compact little ironing board that you can use on your bed or on the kitchen table, or counters, it's sturdy, well made, I like the tray that slides out where you can rest your iron while you're ironing. It's foldable which is very convenient, takes little room. All in all, a very good purchase.
