Architectural Drafting: Procedures & Processes

Good Basic Drawing Guide
This book is a good buy for the money. It was mentioned above that the drawings were a bit rough and unprofessional. You need to understand the difference between Architectural Drafting (drawing) and Mechanical drafting. This is not a book on mechanical drafting.... It is a book to teach the basics of sketching an Architectural draft. This it does quite well. This is how an Architect drafts, on preliminary plans. Later comes the polished professional presentation plan, that's another book at a much steeper price.

AWESOME book
I am using this book for a class I am teaching at a College Level, and I would love to have it as a part of our cirrculum, It has everything that students need to learn about how to hand draft architecturally. Marica Gray did a great job with this book and should make many more,,,BRAVO

Short, direct, no fluff
Wrapped, new, well made and straight to the point instruction. Not as full of information as I would have preferred but covers a lot of the basics of drawing interpretation and execution.

Good but not great
On the plus side, this is a wonderful idea for a book, and there isn't anything out there, that I could find, that even comes close.I think the information is strong, and the drawings were great, but I found myself wishing that the writing style was a little more concise and personable.I'm not a fan of spiral bound printing, which reduces the overall quality of the book. And, in the case of my copy, although it came encased in plastic, someone had used it as a drafting board and left deep indentations of what MAY have been a grocery list in ball point pen. So minus points for that.

A great primer on technical drawing- why are such great publications ...
A great primer on technical drawing- why are such great publications the hardest to get? Definitely worth of a best seller status.

not bad...
the book itself isn't bad. it is spiral bound and thinner than i thought it would be, but it did cover the basics of manual drafting and the exercises on line weights would be helpful to someone just starting out. i purchased it for my architectural detailing class hoping it would be a refresher and indeed it was.

Regret purchase
Full of typos, over-explained things like pencils and under-explained how to draw. I regret this purchase.
