Solid lil pick
Bought it for my beard, which is around a foot long. Gifted one to another friend with a long beard. We both love it. The black tips start to come off fairly easily, the plastic handle feels cheap & you have to be careful not to take it all the way down to the plastic when you're brushing or it will catch your hair on the plastics burr. I just put a finger over the bottom while I'm brushing. Otherwise it's great.

I’ve owned one for over 10 years and still has not disappointed.
100% would recommend. This thing has lasted over 10 years with no issues. Can’t say the same for the ones with the fist on it.

Black paint blues
With my hair growing, this pick is a wonderful one to use to get right down to the roots without compressing the volume of a fluffy fro. The only con and worth removing a star, is the paint on the tines. Not only does it come off, it comes off stickily. I've brushed bits of black paint out of my hair which isn't attractive or comforting. If the company is taking feedback, please don't dip these in the black paint?

great quality but
made very well and sturdy wont break on you like the picks with a fist on it the only thing i don't like is the black tips they chip off into your hair over time i just scratch it off when i get the pick

Easy to use; hard to find.
I recently ordered a Diane 12 count fan pick, and I have to say that I was a little worried if it was going to have the same quality as some of the older ones I've used, but it's almost identical with the exception that the ends are coated with a smooth black substance to prevent injuring yourself. The quality is on par with the original fan picks. The handle's exactly the same. The one thing I liked about this one as opposed to the others I've used would be the fact that it doesn't have the "black power fist" as the end of it.I'm glad this product's about hair and not silly pride that can be offensive to others. I recommend this one.

Not 12 count, But I LOVE this pick!!
I waited a month to write this review to ensure durability. I have a pretty thick afro at 4.5" long and bushy. This pick is showing only minimal signs of wear, i.e. the black plastic tips (seem only cosmetic). The pins (bristles) are holding very well in the plastic grip.I used my friends (less than a week old) black fist pick and broke two pins (bristles) after 35-40 strokes. I am a little skeptical about all things manufactured in China, but this seems like a great product. I don't know how long picks are supposed to last, but I am going to buy a few more to save for later. I paid $9. Great deal! $2.50/pick and $4 s/h.

Best thing ive ever bought for my long kinky hair
Im a mixed but predominantly black male and ive used dozens of picks in my decade of having long (six inches when held straight, usually been an afro) very curly hair. The build is tough and the tines arent pieces of crap glued into holes on the handle. And most importantly its the only pick with the length and geometry necessary to comfortablyand effectively detangle and style my monster hair. Im writing this review well over a year into owning this product and i can say from a durability standpoint no different than the day i bought it.

Pic YES..Black tips..NO!
It does what it is supposed to do, which is turn my half-fro into an afro....The manufacturer should leave the black painted tips off though. The paint serves no purpose other than to make you go batsh*t crazy from trying to figure out what the black specs are on your shower cap. Once the paint is all of the way chipped off (into your hair), it's a great pic!

Shut the front door...
Man I was struggling to find a decent 'fro comb in Canada until I stumbled across this (I live in Vancouver, there are no black people here because we don't like skiing). The length is perfect so you don't end up denting your hair as you comb through. The black rubber tips fall apart after a while but that's to be expected with any metal comb really. It's great, I'm thinking of order another 2 so I can upgrade my at-work comb and my carry-with-me comb. Please don't stop making this.

Excellent detangling afro pick
It is a lot more durable then it looks in the picture. My son has extremely curly and nappy hair that needs daily attention to de-tangle all the knots. This pick works beautifully to do just that. I find it works best right with wet hair, but it works just as well with dry hair. This looks as though it will last a very long time.

Nice little pick
Nice little pick, be kind of careful when picking your hair tho, it does bend a bit if it's too rough so make sure to dampen your hair first

Feels good
Replaced my cheap plastic pick. Love the way it goes through my hair. Way less breaking and shedding. My only complaint is the paint/coating on the black tips flaked a bit too quickly.
