MUST HAVE in my toolbox of camouflage potions and powders!
'Thought I reviewed this product already, but here I go again... I'm a 45 yr old woman who has been struggling with hereditary hair loss since my early 30's. I've tried just about everything from supplements to hair pieces. I've also tried MANY other hair powders and "fibers" which always fall very short...horrifyingly so. (Except for "All Nighter" hair powder, which helps to volumize.) This fill-in powder is a MUST HAVE in my toolbox of camouflage potions and powders! I have dark brown hair, so I can use the "Dark Brown", which is a little lighter than my hair, or the "Black" which is a bit darker. It not only prevents the dreaded "halo" of a white scalp gleaming through thin dark hair (especially under overhead lighting...the HORROR most of you reading will understand;), but it sort'f "poofs" up my roots making me look like I actually have a glorious mane! I'm not kidding. It's amazing. My typical "gussy up" routine is: wash with Nioxin, towel dry, add Rusk "Thickr", blow dry upsidedown, then let my hair fall any way it wants so that all the cow licks and bald-ish spots show up. Then I go to work stippling this fill-in powder all over until I don't see any white scalp. After that, I'll part it where I want and use more powder in the thin areas, style and use Nioxin hair spray (my favorite because it's very light but has super holding power). Granted, I don't go through all of this daily, as I'm very low maintenance. But for special occasions, this is what works for me. Another important note about this product: I live in an extremely hot, humid, disgusting climate and this powder has NEVER run. How it stays put despite so much moisture, yet washes right out without any fuss is mystifying. Now, if I could just stop the shedding altogether....

Same as Claudia Stevens fill-in powder
Interesting. I was looking for the Claudia Stevens Cover That Gray fill-in powder that I usually order from Amazon and found this Irene Gari Cover That Gray powder. The products seem to be identical (including both are made by Fisk Ind.), with the exception that Irene Gari is sold in individual shades, whereas Claudia Stevens is sold in sets of 2 shades. Personally, I prefer the single shades. In both cases, I feel the name of the product line, Cover That Gray, is misleading. As far as I know, this product is not intended to help with covering gray hair; it is a powder to fill in thinning spots. As far as the product itself, I find that the fill-in powder works great at concealing thinning hair spots; you simply apply it with the included brush. The powder is available in four shades: Black Dark brown Medium brown Light brown/blonde The fill-in powder is reasonably priced and does a decent job. Would recommend.

Fill in color
The fill in color really doesn’t match my hair color so it doesn’t look right. This is something I feel like you really should see in person instead of trying to go by a picture. The size is small and brush is also very small.

disappointed
Perhaps I just got the wrong color, but the powder for light brown hair is basically the same color as my face makeup, and when I put it on my grey roots, it looked like bald scalp! I didn't want to trade my grey hair for what looks like alarmingly thinning hair! Also, the brush that comes with the product is very poor quality. The moment I used it, bristles began falling out. (There seems to be a bald theme here)

Decent coverage w thw right color. This is listed as pack of 3, it is not a 3 pack.
Ok, so the item is described as "pack of 3", I received only one(not one package containing 3) which is why I rated value for the money low. As far as sheerness/thickness... I bought the light brown and have med auburn hair, with some loss around my temples due to medication. This color needed to be slightly darker for me, not the fault of the seller/manufacturer, this is more for a med blonde or really light brown hair. It isn't a heavy powder which is good and it stays on well, so sheerness there is good, coverage not so much(but again that could have been my color choice). I haven't seen it in a high-moisture environment, but if/when sweating a little it didn't run, which is good.

Great coverage and price - perfection
Absolutely love this product! As you can see the first picture is after I’ve applied and second picture is before. A significant difference! Not only is this is a great value for the money, but you supply much more product than some of the other ones that are significantly more expensive. I’ve probably tried 10 different products from sprays to brushes that have the powder in it to these products. Prices have ranged from yours up to and including $75. Not only do I like the color but I also like the application process and I love the brush that comes with it. I think you could begin to add some more shades and you would even have more people using. I just posted this on Facebook to 1000 of my friends so be prepared for some purchases coming your way.

a mi personalmente no me cubre las canas, hay que echar varias veces en el mismo sitio y aún así no lo cubre así que no lo recomiendo

I’m very impressed, I didn’t have high hopes since it’s a cheaper product. Some on the market are up to 45 dollars like the wowroot powder. I’m glad I purchased, and will be again. I wasn’t sure if it was going to match my cool tone hair, most powders are too orange for natural blonde hair. It’s a little orange but I even it out with white powder and it matches perfect. I’m really impressed. I have a naturally high hairline, and on either side it goes up further, this was great to even out my hairline and make it look thicker. I would recommend giving this hair powder a shot.

Bought dark blonde previously but it was too pale to cover my grey roots, this colour is much better

Ok, let me start by saying, don't give it your first try when you are rushing to get ready for work or something. It is a good product, but you need a bit of trial and error, and in my opinion, trial with different brushes, in order to get the best results. I found that the brush it came with was too cumbersome for grey roots on my regularly coloured hair which has hardly any regrowth, so I used a smaller, flat angled makeup brush, which worked a lot better. For small tricky areas like temples etc, I used the side of the brush and pulled the hair away from my head as I brushed on the powder on, so that it wouldn't go all over the side of my face. I have very steely coloured grey hair, so this light colour did not cover the grey as well as a darker shade would have - it's possibly fine for you blonder ladies though. My experiences are only based on attempting to cover grey roots, so I cannot comment on the scalp coverage issue for thinning hair. My advice - be realistic - this is not going to completely cover 100% of each and every grey hair. It's a powder, not a permanent hair dye. What it will do, is blend it nicely, and soften the look, so that you no longer feel the need to hide at home / go out with a hat on. I found that this powder created minimal mess, didn't seem to come off on clothes, pillows, etc and had a non sticky feel. P.s : I have full eyebrows, but my pal who has none, tried this powder to fill hers in and it worked well. Ok ladies : if you do want some super duper grey coverage and you are willing to make a compromise on the fact that your hair will not feel as natural as just powder alone, you could give this a try : Put hair mascara on the roots 1st, wait til almost dry / just tacky, and then brush this powder on top of the mascara - ta dah!

covers well but brush that is included is not that good, I have to use another larger harder one.
