Love these speakers!
UPDATE 2 (04/07/2018): So I forgot to do the update so here it is. I received a new center speaker and I believe I got it in 2 days time. Anyway NIGHT AND DAY difference. The center was definitely blown. The new center speaker preformed flawlessly and still does. I's been almost two years since I got this set and I am 100% still satisfied to the day with the performance of these speakers. They are MIND blowing :-)UPDATE: one week post install. I think the center channel mid/tweeter is blown. Some movies have scratchy dialog like an old pair of speakers I blew in a car once. The Last Airbender opening scene is s dialog story snd it's either a horrible recording or the blown speaker. I tried 3:10 to Yuma and it sounded pretty good. I then put in Transformers Age or Extinction using Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 and scenes with Mark Wahlberg talking are again scratchy. I called Sound Distributors and within 30 seconds they said they would ship a new one with a return box and label. No questions asked. OMG AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will update after I get the new one :-)I'm not an audiophile by any means. I have hearing loss and tinnitus from military duty. Worse in left ear. It's not bad but it's there. I hear a certain constant ringing tone all the time. I am finishing an unfinished basement. But between working I decided to start setting up my theater room so I can enjoy movies and games. I've had my heart set on a 5.2.4 Klipsh package for over 6 months and planned out an 11.2 and 7.2.4 system using two receivers. Previously I purchased two Klipsch R-5650-W II and two R-5650-S II for front wide and surround speakers for about $1000 and have them installed in stud walls using a simple Onkyo TX-8050 for stereo sound. The 5.2.4 is running about $5K with an Onkyo TX-NR1030. The amount is a hard pill to swallow. I found the reciever on sale for $1300, picked up these Bic speakers for $1200 and four Bic HT-8C $69 each for the ceilings. Still have to buy the subs later. Saving about $2000. These speakers are amazing sounding!!! I love them!

Extremely Disappointed.
No low end dynamic range. A pair of bookshelf speakers provide more sound than these.Buyer beware return is a shipping hassle.

These speakers are better than any soundbar
I’m coming from the best most expensive soundbar which I had high hopes for but was letdown kindaNothing compares to separates, I haven’t heard separates in so long this pl 980 based sound system is blowing me away hearing details I’ve never heard before in movies along with insane channel separation clarity in voice dialogue at low volumes insane bass from the subwoofersI feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven how good this sound system makes movie sound I love hearing subtle details everywhere now makes watching anything breathtaking and fun

I have to say I am amazed at the PL series speakers
These just replaced my 5 year old Fluance 5.0 set and I have to say I am amazed at the PL series speakers. The Fluance worked great and was cheap at the time and I would definitely recommend them if you are on a tight budget. Once the PL's came in I was sooooo excited and once I took them out of the box and took the grills off I couldn't stop smiling. I put these next to the Fluance and let me tell you these are some big boys. Almost 4 feet tall and the center channel is a monster!!! I got these hooked up and was pleasantly surprised how well they sounded straight out of the box. I have had these about a month now and put many of hours with music and movies and they sound spectacular. When I set these to full range they thump really well I thought my subs were actually on. This was with music that I only tried it so I dint know what they would sound like in full range with movies. I have all the cross overs set at 70hz and I hear things I have never heard before in movies that I didn't with my Fluances. Again it's not a fair comparison but since that's all I have to compare these with that I have listened to in my home that's all I can go by..I have heard others brands in different homes and the PL's just dominate the others but again different environments etc etc.The mids and highs are just beautiful on these things not overbearing but tight and precise. Much better them my friends 7.0 Pioneer setup he has set up. I mean MUCH BETTER. The mids are nice these would be perfect if you live in an apartment and don't have room for a sub. So far I am loving these and every movie I watch they just seem to bring out new sounds I never heard before. Also I been listening to these for about 3 weeks now and I been driving them with a Onkyo Tx Nr636 7.2 reciever. For home theater its plenty loud for movies but for music I would say these would sound much louder and cleaner a lot more power fed to them. I think my receiver is rated @ 115 watts per channel and I highly doubt that's rms. I suggest you get a preamp to really flex these things. Unfortunately I bought the receiver before the speakers and didn't realize my Onkyo did not have preamp connections. SO Im not even driving these a 1/4 of the way.
