Crisp Corn Carnival: Thousand Lakes Freeze Dried Sweet Corn, A Culinary Delight
Thousand Lakes Freeze Dried Vegetables - Sweet Corn in a convenient 2-pack 3.6 ounces format is not just a pack of vegetables; it's a versatile culinary wonder. Awarded a brilliant five-star rating, this sweet corn is a testament to the joy and convenience that high-quality, freeze-dried vegetables can bring to your kitchen. Upon opening a packet of Thousand Lakes' Sweet Corn, you're greeted with kernels that are vibrant and full of natural sweetness. The freeze-drying process preserves the corn's fresh flavor and nutrients, ensuring that each kernel is a bite-sized burst of summer, regardless of the season. The texture is delightfully crisp, making it a perfect snack on its own or a versatile ingredient in a variety of dishes. Speaking of versatility, this sweet corn can transform a simple recipe into something special. For instance, it's a fantastic addition to the 'Original Chopped Salad,' a dish known for its fresh, vibrant flavors and textures. The corn's natural sweetness complements the savory and tangy elements of the salad, adding a delightful crunch that elevates the entire dish. To make the 'Original Chopped Salad': Ingredients: Salad: 1/2 cup smoked salmon, chopped or flaked 2/3 cup Thousand Lakes Freeze Dried Corn, rehydrated 2/3 cup chopped arugula 2/3 cup cooked Israeli couscous 1/2 cup diced Roma tomatoes 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar 1 tablespoon olive oil Trail Mix: 1/4 cup black currants 1/4 cup toasted and salted pepitas (pumpkin seeds) 3 tablespoons ground Asiago cheese Dressing: 1 cup Best Foods mayo 1/4 cup buttermilk, shaken 1 tablespoon grated Romano cheese Juice of one lemon 12 basil leaves, roughly 1/2 cup very loosely packed 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic Fresh ground sea salt and pepper to taste Steps: Prepare Dressing (up to two days ahead): Combine mayo, buttermilk, Romano cheese, lemon juice, basil leaves, and garlic in a blender. Pulse and blend on low until ingredients are mixed well. Add ground salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate. Cook Couscous: Follow package directions to cook the Israeli couscous. Optionally, skip toasting for a lighter appearance. Refrigerate until ready to assemble the salad. On the Day of Serving: Chop the tomatoes and mix with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside. Wash and chop the arugula. Set aside. For the trail mix, combine black currants, pumpkin seeds, and Asiago cheese. Set aside. Assemble the Salad: On a platter or in a shallow bowl, arrange the individual components (salmon, corn, arugula, couscous, tomatoes) in strips, as shown in the recipe photos. Serve: Present the salad with the dressing on the side. Toss with dressing at the table when ready to eat. --- This freeze-dried sweet corn is not just about great taste; it's also about convenience. With a long shelf life and no need for refrigeration, it's an excellent staple to keep in your pantry for those times when fresh vegetables aren't on hand. Whether you're an avid camper, a busy parent, or just someone who appreciates the convenience of having nutritious ingredients at your fingertips, this product is a game-changer. TL;DR: Thousand Lakes Freeze Dried Sweet Corn is a five-star product that offers the natural sweetness and crisp texture of fresh corn with the convenience of a long shelf life. It's a perfect addition to recipes like the 'Original Chopped Salad,' enhancing dishes with its vibrant flavor and nutritious content.

Tasty snack or add on to any soup

Great replacement or addition to parsley. Does not change the flavor of your foods.
I use this along with parsley. It is small and fine great to add color & green to anything one eats. Gives the dish a boost of green vegetables where kids are concerned. I use just like parsley but get the added boost of the vitamins kale has without the fuss from youth picking it out.

Finally found a source!
Had purchased pre-packaged salads that included freeze-dried corn, and wanted to find out where I could buy them. I had never had this product, and it is a great addition to a salad. It took a bit of research because I didn't think of the term "freeze-dried", but finally found these at Amazon. Bought them and have been using them for several months. Good taste - not perfect but very good. They add flavor and variety to any salad, or you can eat them right out of the bag. Good product.

The Best Freeze Dried Broccoli
This review is for Thousand Lakes Freeze Dried Broccoli Florets 2-pack 1.2 ounces (2.4 ounces total). I have tried many brands of freeze-dried veggies over the years, and I can say Thousand Lakes is the BEST I've used. It rehydrates in seconds, meaning I can add it to a recipe or even a bowl of soup at the last minute, and it tastes great. I will buy it again and will try other veggies from this company.

Makes a great snack!!
We got a smaller bag of the freeze dried broccoli as a gift for our pup who has been on quite the steamed broccoli kick these past few months. Since getting this, we have replaced all of her dried/crunchy treats with this broccoli and the dog LOVES IT!! Make sure to keep the silica pack in the bag until it’s empty to keep it dry (DONT EAT THE LITTLE PACKET). And toward the end of the bag when it’s mostly powder I put a spoonful of what’s left in her food and she thinks she’s getting a special reward. Best dog treat ever if your pup likes broccoli!!

Fantastic- easy to use and tasty
Spent many years looking for freeze dried veggies without all the other spiced, ingredients in a meal. Tried this and the corn and they are terrific, very easy to hydrate and eat on the trail, easy to spice up with whatever- salt, pepper, garlic powder, olive oil. If you love broccoli you could even snack on these dry. The corn was tasty too- glad we found them !! Price could be better but this freeze dried stuff is expensive
