Clean Air Distributing G20P Compost Thermometer

I put this thermometer in my compost bin, and almost immediately the inside of the "glass" fogged up and got droplets on it, which made the dial either difficult or impossible to read, depending on where the droplets were and where the needle happened to be.After a couple weeks, the guys who mow my lawn dumped grass clippings on top of the thermometer and I didn't notice for a couple days. The heat from the grass clippings was enough to MELT the plastic (not glass) cover on the thermometer. The good news: the water droplets are gone. The bad news: the plastic mishapen enough that it keeps the needle from moving freely.I found the "Clean Air Distributing" company online. They have the same thermometer pictured on their website that's on Amazon, and they're operating under the same name listed on Amazon. However, they claimed it wasn't their thermometer and they don't sell on Amazon.Unbelievable.

Apparently to the folks at Clean Air, it's about making a profit and NOT about quality products. I have had the Clean Air Distributing G20PCompost Thermometer for approximately one month and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED!! The inside of the display area has so much built up condensation, one cannot read the dial. How hard / expensive is it to seal the display area?!Would not recommend this product, but then I also have not encountered any similar products that address condensation inside the display area on their web page.

Not sure why the other reviewer had issues with this thermometer. Could be, like many of the negative reviews on products, it was user-error. In any case, I have been using this thermometer for several months and it has provided accurate readings of my compost (both piles and inside tumbler-type). I like the temperature ranges on the dial as it gives a quick idea how hot the compost is, without having to take the time to figure out the exact temperature.For anyone interested in composting in a controlled environment, this thermometer is cheap and yet very helpful tool!

I purchased mine a year ago , but not satisfied with moisture easily gets inside but at least I was able to take the plastic cover off and clean it out. Plus the dial is pretty small but it does do what its supposed to. I would not recommend this item from this seller.

Does the job but don't leave it out in the weather. The lens is not weatherproof. But you can't beat the price ! A good value for the serious home compost maker.

The thermometer is easy to read. It is motivating to keep me working at the best mix (ingredients, moisture) in the compost pile to get maximum results. It arrived quickly after the order was placed.

The long wand makes it easy to find in the compost and it is easy to clean and accurate. I'd buy another.
