Guardian GearNylon Martingale Dog Collar, Fits Necks 10" to 16", Raspberry

I was already a big fan of martingale collars before I bought this one as a gift. I believe they are excellent training tools for gentle corrections. My local shelter uses them on all their dogs, from chihuahuas to pitties to rottweilers and once trained properly, or even trained mostly (haha), there is always a great improvement in behavior and walking. I would not leave it on my dog at the dog park or playtime though! Surprisingly I never see martingale training collars for sale at my local Petco.I ordered this collar in the pink / raspberry color. It was a bright rich color and looks so cute on my best friends corgi. She's a VERY stubborn dog and it did help improve her behavior on walks, though at times she still goes crazy regardless of the collar. (Corgis, man. They're nuts) this is a great collar and when I get a dog of my own soon I'll be buying this exact one again!!

These are great collars! They're very durable and handle rough play. Although it should be said that martingale collars should be removed whenever they are not necessary - such as indoor play time. And they should be loose enough for you to put a finger between the collar and your dogs neck AT THE TIGHTEST SETTING. So they lay loosely when the dog is not pulling. But they are great for puppies. Especially when dogs are learning how to walk on a leash they often try and back out of the collar. Happens all the time with regular collars and to have that happen with a puppy that might not know its commands could result in a lost doggie. These collars guarantee that your dog can't pull out of its collar.

I purchased this for my puppy in order to get her accustomed walking on a leash and it worked very well. Easily slipped back loose after she stopped pulling. I wouldn't recommend to leave on all day as there is no buckle to safely release it, needs to slide over the head. But lasted until she grew out of it and would still work for a future puppy. Pink color was bright and pretty.

I bought the 14-20 inch collar for my dog that has a 16 inch neck. I measured where I was supposed to. It was too tight on her. Had to return it. I am leaving 3 stars instead of lower because they refunded my money without making me pay to return ship it back.

I got this collar because my dogs keep breaking the ones with plastic buckles, and one of my dogs has a skinny head that can pull out of most collars. This collar works great, she can't pull out as long as you grab her by the loop ( I haven't tried it with a leash, but as the leash attaches to the loop it should work the same way). The collars are sturdy but soft and the colors are pretty.Delivery times were as expected and I would purchase this item again.

I like martingale collars because they offer increased security, especially with my dogs that like to twist their heads out of their collars, but the collar can hang loose when not being used. Unlike traditional slip collars, there is little risk of choking if the collar gets hung up on something. I have switched two of my three dogs to this kind of collar and I've been really happy.

Not comfortable for small dogs. I have 3 dogs all under 18 lbs. Only one of them can wear this collar without discomfort. I would love to find Premier's 1/4" martingale collar. Pretty collars and well made, but too stiff and wide for small dogs.

My dog is quite furry and tightening the collar is a quite an undertaking, as the collar material is not "slick" enough. I have another martingale collar from petco I think, where the tightening [|] thing moves easy enough just to take,pull, it. With this one, I need to spend 3 minutes trying to pull the nylon through the [|] thing at the same time trying not to get hair in.

Much thinner than most dog collars. would not consider "heavy duty". that said, it does the job. The metal pieces seem sturdy, but the nylon at the seams is already shredding a bit. It is the only martingale collars in all nylon I could find, but wish it was a little more sturdy. Not sure how long it will last on my 70 pound Daniff puppy.

Love that the martingale is material and not a chain. Love the color. Love that it is light in weight. Even my dog loves it! Nuff said, rufff!
