Chris wants to show his girlfriend Tina his world and he wants to do it his way - on a journey through the British Isles in his beloved caravan. Tina's led a sheltered life and there are things Chris simply needs her to see. But it doesn't take long for annoying tourists, overbooked camp sites, and Tina's meddling mother to spoil Chris' dream. Now he's out to prove that hell truly hath no fury like a vacationer scorned. Director Ben Wheatley (Kill List) cleverly mixes pitch-black humor with over the top violence to create an uncomfortably hilarious portrait of a seemingly normal man pushed over the edge.

Guess there really is somebody for everybody...
Wonderful twisted romance...and a perfect ending. Ben Wheatley is brilliant.

Dark and Funny. Sticks to your brain for a few days.
If you like dark humor British movies and are smart you'll probably like this. Steve Oram and Alice Lowe are great. Very funny, but very dark. It'll stick with you for awhile.

Sick and hilarious
I suppose this movie is not for everyone, but it definitely appealed to my dark sense of humor. I cheer for any romantic comedy that is about two freaks who find each other. That gets me right in the feels.I only wish it ended with Tina going home and offing her horrible mum.

An immature couple goes on their 1st trip in a RV.
Didn't care for this at all. Nothing struck me as funny. I thought the characters were immature brats. Story of a couple who goes site seeing across country in a RV. First thing that happens is as they are pulling out of the girl's mother's driveway to start their adventure (she lives with her mother) the mother doesn't want her daughter to go so she says to him "I don't like you." & tells her daughter she was an accident. Nice goodbye from Mom, huh? Is that funny? On their 1st bus tour a man litters his ice cream wrapper & flips him the bird when he asks him to pick it up. This ruins his whole day & he whines on & on about it as she tries to calm him down. Mother repeatedly interrupts their vacation with calls trying to get her to come home. Next day at a campsite he's admiring a couple's newer modern RV & asks if he can check out the inside? While looking it over he gets jealous because its newer so he pretends to accidentally break their dish. She tries to feed their dog chips & they stop her saying they don't feed their dog junk food. This pisses her off so she steals their dog. The next day while outside with the dog touring a historic site the dog poops & another siteseer asks her to pick up after the dog. It WAS a nice historic site after all. She doesn't have any means to do this & takes it out on him. As her boyfriend walks up she says the guy was talking smack to her so he beats him over the head with a stick killing him. He pulls the dead guys pants down telling her this will mislead detectives into thinking its a sex crime. Next scene a friend of his visits their RV. She gets jealous & tells Chris that he was saying inappropriate things to her. He doesn't believe her. Later that night she rolls her boyfriends friend off a cliff killing him while he's asleep. I mean the whole movie is just about their immature reactions to other people & it wasn't funny to me.

Hilarious Black Comedy
Another masterpiece from Ben Wheatley.

Hilarious Romp through Psychopathy and Morbid Gallows Humour
If you are into the dry, morbid and (some would say) black British comedy, then this is the film for you. After a pint of IPA, you will also be morbidly laughing. Seriously, this is hilarious and shocking. I have not laughed so much since, "There's Something about Mary" and "Seven Psychopaths". Not for the politically correct! Mary Whitehouse beware.

Some merits - but not a likeable character to be found
At times rather a tedious and predictable film, difficult to even raise a smile much of the time. It has macabre humour of, say, Harold and Maud (which I love) and brief graphic scenes of violence, which aren't really necessary and don't add to the humour. I usually love simple films that tell a story - this has narrative progression, but at times feels a little gratuitous and obvious. A couple of gems - one scene involved the introduction of a pink and purple, woollen, hand-knitted sexy outfit of bra and crotch-less panties. Another scene an indignant hiker threatening to report the 'heroes' to the National Trust made me smile until the predictable scene ending. The film will have its fans - and perhaps rightly so, the ending is less predictable, and highlights confusions of trust and loyalty in relationships.

Spiteful
None of these characters is fleshed out and everyone the two lead psychopaths meets is some kind of extra-society freak. It is no fun nor is it funny to try to kill each person you bump into or knock over on your caravan holiday. People have light and shade. The dark souls in this film are only shade. This is a nasty, spiteful film with no redeeming features.

A waste of time waiting for anything to laugh at - it was sick.
I was hoping this movie would have anything in it that could raise a laugh but I'm sorry to say the black humour was particularly sick. The story took a lot of suspension of disbelief and the gory element was as puke-worthy as the story-line. When you compare it with earlier Mike Leigh involvement in films it hadn't got anywhere near the wit that came out of Abigail's Party and the earlier Nuts in May. I really got to fast forwarding it to see if there was any better scenes later on but no - I put the disc back in the box and put it in the charity bag. I regret having bought it. The person who recommended it to me meant well but didn't realize that this type of film is not my kind of humour at all.

Not as good as the trailer
I recently saw the trailer for Sightseers on another DVD I purchased and it looked hilarious so I immediately bought it but unfortunately this is one of those scenarios where the trailer shows the funniest parts of the film and the rest of the film is padded out with mediocre content. It's essentially about an oddball couple who go on a caravan holiday which turns into a killing spree. It's worth a watch on a rainy day if you've got nothing better to do but this is definitely not one of those films you will watch time and time again or rave about to your friends.

hot fuzz-like murder scenes garner comedy claret
Just wanted to throw five starts at this wonderfully dark slice of english comedy featuring lots of places near to where I live and grew up. Comparisons to Mike Leigh are accurate as far as the low rent camping cam goes, but it's the trademark Edgar Wright murder scenes which are akin to those in Hot Fuzz and World's End where the claret flies aplenty that makes the film different and rather good. Best quote of the film, oft repeated in our household: "yeah, he spoilt the tram museum" when referring back to a rather dark moment in the museum car park (too good to spoil).
