Curry Powder Oriental, 3 Oz

I’ve been using S&B curry blocks for years but wanted to cut down on palm oil, so I gave this powder a try. Honestly impressed — the smell and flavor are remarkably close to the classic S&B block roux, that same warm, slightly sweet curry aroma I know so well. It doesn’t have the pre-made thickener or fat that the blocks do, so you’ll need to make your own roux (butter + flour) or add it directly to a stew with cornstarch, but the taste payoff is worth the extra step. Great for anyone who wants authentic Japanese curry flavor with more control over the ingredients. Will be repurchasing.

Smells and tastes fresh and good. It has the typical orange-brown curry color as expected. Easy to use. To open it, just use the spoon to pry the cap off and then you can scoop with that spoon too.

This is the best curry powder I’ve used. You can adjust heat level using more if you prefer hot. One tin lasts several batches of curry. Definitely recommend!

I grew up eating this brand of curry. My Korean family always used the cubes, which are quick, easy, delicious, but made with wheat flour. 30 years later, my family went gluten free, so I had to find some sort of alternative. I tried lots of different curry powders, but they just aren't as tasty to me. I stumbled across just this product, just the spices. I was so excited and quickly ordered it. I add butter and gluten free flour to create a roux for the curry, before adding the curry powder and liquid. It was perfect and a taste from the past. One of my favorite things about S&B is the subtle heat. I'm not a spice person, and you can taste some warmth, but I wouldn't call it spicy. The spices tasted fresh,and my kids gobbled it up. So happy to have found this. We're on our 3rd container.

A can of curry powder. Tastes exactly like the Japanese mild curry blocks without the fat and thickening agents. Put it in everything, a can of hope in every spice cabinet.

Excellent curry powder, used it make curry cubes and they are full of flavour.

While this is the product I wanted, the description said it was a 6 pack. It is not, it is a package of 1. Deceptive.

It says pack of six but i only got sent one. Then I complained online but the form says that I cannot return it….i don’t want to return I just want the missing 5 cans
