a must buy!
I originally came across this wonderful cookbook at my local library. I wanted to try out her recipes first before purchasing the book. Let me tell you her recipes are absolutely delicious! The pictures beautiful illustrated what your dish will look like and will make your tummy rumble. The other thing I really like is all of her recipes are pretty straightforward and not overly complicated. My husband is Moroccan and I have always loved the culture and food. I wanted to find a authentic cookbook and this is it! I really love that it is a hardcover too, it will definitely last a long time.

This is a beautifully written, organized and photographed book. I’m a foodie constantly on a quest for new spice profiles, textures and cooking techniques. This book delivers on them all.

Interesting cookbook with plenty of photos
Haven't made anything from it yet but skimmed the book and the recipes seemed doable. Some I hadn't seen in other Moroccan cookbooks so I think there are some recipes particular to Casablanca.

Really lovely
Really appreciate this cookbook. The recipes are accessible and easy to make. I am the author of a book on Moroccan design and I appreciate how much work went into this.

This is a beautiful book with clear recipes and gorgeous photography. I have quite a few Moroccan/North African cook books and this will become a favourite. There are seven sections: starters to share, vegetarian dishes, meat, poultry, seafood, breads and sweets. It includes classics you'd expect, traditional recipes from some of Nargisse's family and also modern takes on the style of cuisine which are bright and fresh. The recipes are clearly written and easy to follow and the preambles give serving suggestions and some lovely insights into family life and food. Every Moroccan food fan should have a copy of this to cherish.

I live in Quebec, and Quebec is very popular with Moroccan immigrants, so I know and have known many. To my delight, this led to my introduction to Moroccan cuisine, with which I immediately fell in love. Being Italian, I am quite passionate about food, and talking with my Moroccan friends, I discovered that they also have this passion, and they love Italian food as much as I love Moroccan food. So, when I saw this book, I had hoped to find some recipes that I wanted to try, including three-meat bastila (which French-speaking Moroccans usually call "pastilla") and a 12-hour steamed and seasoned carrot dish whose name I can't remember. Sadly, these two recipes are not in this book, though there is a chicken bastila that I will try. This isn't an omission. Moroccan cuisine is very vast, and this book is a sampling of the multitude of dishes, not an exhaustive encyclopedia. The subset that is in this book is quite diverse and representative, so I will still enjoy it a lot, even if it (understandably) doesn't have everything. The book itself is relatively short, coming in at a roughly 220 pages, many of which are very lovely photos. While strictly not necessary, I don't appreciate a cookbook as much if it doesn't have appetizing photos of the food, so these are very appreciated. They're also useful if one has never seen the dish assembled before. The paper is thick and glossy. The binding is solid and would lend itself well to laying flat, if it had thinner paper, but the paper is so thick that the pages just fan out when you try to lay it flat. It's not a flaw, but a tradeoff. Some will love it, some won't. The instructions seem very detailed to me, but I'm the type that rarely opens an instruction manual. To me, anything more than "mix these ingredients" and "cook at this temperature" is very detailed. I'm quite happy with this book. It has interesting recipes, it's well written, it looks good, and it's solid. Can't ask for more from a cookbook.

I don't often come to write reviews, but the author/chef of this book deserves to be known! Oh my goodness...thank you Nargisse for helping to make this Colombian mama a star in my home. My husband is North African and loves Moroccan food. I never felt brave enough to explore as I thought I'd do it no justice. But literally every single recipe I've tried from this book has been a roaring success at my table. And the Harira soup! Wow! Total zing. I'm making it now (for the upteenth time!) and the aromas are firing up my tastebuds...can't wait to get stuck in. A must for anyone looking to impress friends and family with incredible food
