Replaced my original Malibu with this one
This came as expected, it is "new" and works as expected. Ive only had it installed for a month now, so its early to comment on its quality but so far so good. Exact replacement for my original transformer.

Great unit, Great price
This Intermatic low-voltage timer was bought to replace a 30 year old unit that I purchased in a landscape lighting package in 1982. Never had a bit of trouble with that timer until the switch that turns and activates the lights finally broke (the clock was still going). This unit is exactly what I needed. Received it quickly and it was packaged well. The unit was easily hooked up and is functioning quietly and efficiently. In fact I think this design may be a bit more protected from the weather than my old one that ran night and day for 30 years. I highly recommend this as long as 88 Watts is enough for you. It is plenty for my needs. Very pleased with the product, delivery and especially the low price!

Exactly what I needed
At the end of last summer my garden lights (6) refused to turn on at dusk. After a little "process of elimination" I realized I needed a new power supply. I reviewed the requirements on the old unit & they matched the Intermatic ML88T. I hesitated to purchase it because the price seemed too reasonable. As it turned out, The Power Pack is well made, heavy, easy to install, & works as well as the old one. It also has a start/stop timer instead of one that turns on at dusk & turns off 4 hrs. later. I consider this an excellent purchase.

Exact replacement for my outdoor Malibu lights
Though cheaply made plastic product, they last for years. Have one system in front of house and one system behind. Have now replaced this unit on both systems. 2nd unit in each system for 9 years of living in this house. I bought this, loosened 2 electrical contact screws and threw out the old. Took the new one out of the box, put the wires into the lugs, tightened the two screws, plugged it in, and put it on the wall mount. Installed in 3 to 4 minutes. Will last 5 to 10 years so I got what I needed. Very happy. It is a cheap alternative to a Tork clock.

Works so far.
I ordered this for an elderly customer as a replacement. It installed easily and worked like it was supposed to. The only complaint my customer had, was that the switch pins were to small and she was affraid of losing them when she changed the time. The pins are small and can be a bit of a pain, but for the price, and the fact you don't mess with the pins very often its very workable. Plus I found a place to order new pins if they do get lost( sorry no link).Bottom line, I would recommend this product.

Landscape light timer
I received the timer before the date it should arrive. It's working great.

Great price; works perfectly
Based on some reading online, the original units seem to fail fairly often. You really can't beat the price on this power pack when you consider the cost of buying an entire new system. Our power pack had been out for a few years. After plugging this new one in, it came to life. We don't use the timer feature on ours, we have this hooked up to a mechanical Intermatic timer and that works well.Installation was very simple; screwing two wires to the appropriate termnals. And of course, remounting it to the wall.

Hidden cost in this transformer: About $26/yr
I have had both a Malibu 200 watt and 121 watt transformer for over 10 years with no problem with either of these. I decided to replace my halogen landscaping lights with much more efficient LED lights as a way of reducing my electric bill. Since that also reduced the demand on these transformers, I thought it would be a good idea to replace the 200 watt transformer with this 88 watt model....also thinking I might want to replace both; but fortunately I only replaced one to see how well it worked....in short, it was a very bad decision to replace either of them. After measuring the actual watts used by each of the transforms, I discovered what reviewer "Dinoz" discovered: "...the timer does NOT control the power to the transformer" like it does on the Malibu models. What does this mean? Well, assume you want your landscaping lights on for 4 hrs each night, and off for the remaining 24. The transformer alone draws about 36 watts of power, so at 10 cents/kw-hr, you would be paying an extra $26/yr for this transform to be unnecessarily on for the remaining 20 hours/day... eliminating or significantly reducing any savings by switching to LED lights. I also discovered that as long as the total load on the transformer was greater than about 40 watts, the difference in power requirements between the 88, 121 and 200 watt systems was very minor and I should simply continue to use my old transformers. I don't know if Malibu's 200 and 121 watt models are still available, or have changed in the last 10 years; but anyone would be wise to pay more for a model where the transformer cuts off with the lights, even if it is rated at more watts than is needed.Update: My older 200 watt Malibu transformer failed and I replaced it with Intermatic ML121RT Low Voltage 121-Watt Power Pack with Timer, Black for less than $22 on Amazon. This is the same as my 121 watt Malibu model, where the transformer cuts off with the lights, only drawing about 10 watts to run the clock. This is a much better transformer, and a bargain at this price!
