I loved it and I highly recommend it for anyone of any age because it teaches great family values and has a lot of wonderful stories that draw you in and make you feel like you are part of their family. I hated to see it end. I grieved a bit when it was over. I had to go online and watch all the interviews of the actors and I had to also buy all their two hour specials and watched all of those. I highly recommend it as a gift to a lonely person or a person who did not have a good family when they were growing up because the father and mother and grandparents teach you things that you might not have been taught when growing up and in this way you can all that you had lost through watching the Waltons, a loving family that will make you feel loved too especially if you are craving something you never had or craving something you once had and now it is all gone...either way you will be blessed and have joy watching this entire series. I am shocked that they don't seem to be selling more or offering more copies of this? Are they getting sold out? Then Amazon ...demand more sets like this.....people are craving this stuff...wake up Amazon....get more copies of this set and you will make tons of money!! LOVED IT!!!

The waltons is a great show for the family.I am from Virginia and this show is so very much like time's really was back in the day, I was raised much like the Walton kids and I enjoyed watching the show ,it brings back good memories of My childhood.Always will have a special place in my heart.

Watched The Waltons when it came out on TV, and now we have watched the entire series x3. Video quality was good. No glitches. We were replacing the original release disc's when several of them glitches. It was cheaper to buy the entire series than to replace a season here and there. This is pretty accurate for the time and events of the time, which is one of my favorite parts of the show. Reliving some of those stories told by our parents and one of the greatest generations in American history. Have to remember that the show I set in Virginia, so if your life experience was different, that's alright. You live din a different part of the country, or world. This was Earl Hamner's experience in Virginia, often with all of the conflict and hurt feelings of the time. I thank him for his calling to tell the story. Good set of disc's and a good show and worth the money for the hours of memories and entertainment.

All episodes r there. Great clear picture. Excellent vol. But l would like 2 metion that some of the little ridges that holds the disk down some of mine broke off when removing the disk. So l think they should package it better. Other then that it works great.

There is nothing good on with shows today the old shows are much better

Brings back good memories

I've been watching the Waltons on tv for many years, but I had never seen the entire series from beginning to end. My husband, knowing that I enjoyed the series, gave me the complete set for Christmas. Now that I've watched the entire set (including movies), I realize how much I had missed by watching it on tv as time allowed.Seasons 1-7 are single side discs, but seasons 8-9 are on double-sided discs. I'm not sure why they decided to go with the double-sided discs. I'm not a fan of double-sided discs as they tend to have more issues than a regular disc. Thankfully, I only had a small glitch in one episode during season 8. The rest of the discs played well.The movies are included on 3 discs with 2 movies per disc. I had seen the first 3 movies on tv, but I had never seen the last 3 movies. It was interesting to see how the lives of the Waltons played out over time. The original family core remained strong, but they definitely changed with the times. The final 3 movies definitely had a different feel to them, and there were some serious inconsistencies that took place from the shows to the movies and even within the movies themselves.The show is family friendly while still addressing some tough issues that come with growing up (relationships, alcohol, smoking...). They also addressed society issues such as slavery, racial tension, war... While there is some language in the shows, it is very tame compared to today's television series.

With everything that is happening in the world today my husband and I have been disappointed with what is available on TV for family viewing and this set fills the bill. Good family viewing while teaching good life skills. Totally recommend it.

I loved this TV series when I occasionally had a chance to watch it in my youth.And, I enjoy revisiting it now.I've only watched a couple of episodes, so far, and the picture and sound quality have been excellent.The only disappointment is that the individual DVDs are 'stacked' in their containers, with no protective material between them.So, I'm definitely worried about scratches.And, as a result, I'll be doing a bit of improvising to protect them.But, this is a very minor issue in light of the high quality video and audio -- so, I'm still giving the set 5 stars.
