My community started a true recycling program. I realized once the program started that most of my garbage was able to be recycled. Since I only have to change out my household trash bag a couple of times a week it was creating an awful smell in my kitchen from food waste. I decided to get this compost bin to put food scraps in to alleviate the smell. So far it is working great. On trash day I put the little bag in the household waste bin, and I no longer have that awful food smell in my kitchen. The bin is sturdy, attractive, and easy to clean. The bags that come with the bin are supposed to be biodegradable, which fits in perfectly with the recycling program.

This container is beautiful in the kitchen and matches other copper décor I have. It is a great size for usually a week's worth of compostables (in my house lots of coffee grounds and used tea, egg shells, and fruit/ vegetable scraps). The filters are awesome in containing the smell. I am on the fence about the bags, they do well for keeping the container clean, but feel like they will tear when I remove the bag to take to my compost bin. If you are looking for a beautiful in kitchen pail to hold compostables, this one is highly recommended.

Attractive and easy to clean. No odor from compost and thankful for the included bags. Be careful if you use the bags- the biodegradable material becomes a flimsy elastic membrane when it gets soggy. I had one stressful trip to the outside compost with a bulging compost bag in my hands. The bags, when full, have the stretchy quality of a wet spring roll wrapper. If you’ve ever made spring rolls with those tapioca wrappers you moisten and then fill and roll, you’ll be familiar with how easy it is to accidentally poke a hole in one- I was scared it would burst and deposit semi-rotting fruit and veggie scraps, eggshells and coffee grounds on my floor! The bag held and I will be carting the whole bucket outside now to deposit my compost in the bin.

I fill it up 1-2x a week. Easy to use and there is never a bad smell. Would have given 5 stars except there are always gnats or fruit flies to contend with. I’ve used a quality lavender essential oil on the filter to keep them at bay. It helps but does not deter them for long. I have to empty at least every 3 days to prevent an infestation.

UPDATE: since posting this I’m saddened to say as everything else in my life that I buy copper or oil rubbed bronze, the copper color is wearing off . It’s only been about 8 months . At this point I will have to just get rust oleum paint snd re paint it . So far this is perfect and just what I needed . It is nice looking in my kitchen as well as functional. Love the color . The filters really help with the smell . It is totally odorless . The only thing I’m not crazy about are the green biodegradable bags that I decided to use inside obviously have to hang over the edge to work correctly but it’s an eyesore so I just tuck it inside . I can live with the green bags and simply Love this compost bin . I’m hoping the copper color stays!

I love the little thing. It fits an entire broccoli stalk when empty. It looks great sitting on my kitchen counter and is light and very easy to carry out to the compost bin for emptying. I rinse it out outside, then wash it inside. The charcoal filters are wonderful at keep out the fruit flies and probably would keep down smell if I left it full for too long. I seldom leave to much in it for more than 48 hours.

This compost pot came in perfect condition. Think some times product comes as good as delivery service. Ours is great. The pot looks great and I love the filter as well as the bags that come with it. One of my favorite buys. We're going to have awesome potting soil this spring. Have had hard time finding the right size that doesn't have odor with it. It's just the right size and looks beautiful on my cabinet

Up till now (purchased november 2021, now august 2022), I'd give it a 5 star review. No smells, it cleans easy, the copper has stayed on and looks nice. The problem comes when you change the carbon filters. The factory installed ones are nice and thick, round, and fight snugly in the cover. The replacement filters are thin, don't fill the space they're in, fit VERY loosely, and one is square! So, they let out some smells, and worse let in, and out, flies! The company needs to provide the same filters as they install at the factory. I really should give it a 1 or 2 star, but the rest of the construction is good.
