Nature's Way, Blessed Thistle Herb, 100 Capsules

I definitely found this product increased my appetite. One a day.

I received the product today and have only taken 2 doses, however i noticed that when i took both doses I did pump more. I exclusively pump and usually average about 6 oz total every 3 hours. After the first dose i had 7 oz, after the 2nd i had 8.5 oz. It's still a bit to early to tell if this will eventually affect all pumping sessions but it's worth sharing if it works this quickly. I'll write another review in a few days to see if it really does continue to help.3/5/15.Ok so I'm still exclusively pumping and although this did help with production, my lil one did not do so well when she drank the milk. She would get so fussy, gassy and would spit up a majority of the feeding. We would stop giving her the milk for a few days and give her freshly expressed milk and she would be fine so we would go back to the milk pumped while on blessed thistle only to have the same problems. Use cautiously. Word of advice, if you exclusively pump, label the milk( any time you take something different to include medications) and only try it for a few days to see if your little one has problems.Loved the benefits of increased milk production, but not at the expense of my little ones discomfort. I'll try something else.

Combined with fenugreek, (three caps, three times a day of each, if you don't smell like maple syrup, increase the FENUGREEK to four, five or six caps three times a day, every twelve hours or so for the increases, until you DO smell like maple syrup, but keep the blessed thistle at three caps three times a day), blessed thistle is proven to help increase milk supply when there is a reason to protect your milk supply (poor transfer, poor latch, ties before amendment of the ties). This was purchased to add to a breastfeeding support basket which I gifted to my sister, as insurance so that she won't need it. Nature's Way is a great brand. Highly recommended.

I take these upon recommendation to help balance out my hormones. I am in surgical menopause, (no ovaries) and also take maca root and vitex. The blessed thistle helps balance me out and as a bonus it really gave some new life to my breasts! They have noticeably filled back out and firmed back up since I've been taking this. Only take 1-2 pills a day, and have taken it for about three months now. I stopped for about a week to test it's effects and that's how I know for certain it is effective for me.
