Lovely durable tool bench
I purchased this as a first birthday present for my godson. He loves it. Very durable as he has dropped it loads with no effect. And bought in the sale too so for a bargain price

Good for older toddlers
Looks good, English and french which is interesting. Bit boring for a 1 year old but will get more use later I assume

Interesting, but limited, toy that appears to need a role model in your family
This is an odd little toy, since it falls somewhere between the age where a toddler is interested in it and the age where they have the desire to use it the way it was intended. There are 4 key elements; a light switch, a big nail and accompanying hammer, a drill and a little slot you post different shaped plastic shapes into. Hit the nail with the hammer (push down on it really) and a little birdhouse pops up behind it (nice, quick building). The light switch works as expected (except it elicits some speech from the toy) and the drill makes a noise when you spin the handles. If you have a workshop that you let your little one into, then maybe they’ll be more engaged than my kids were, but in terms of role playing they don’t have enough reference material to inspire them.It is all very cute and clever, but it never hit it off with our children and has been largely ignored for months. The light switch, which I’d had high hopes for, never gathered as much interest as the real ones in the house, despite doing the same thing on a smaller scale. The little shapes were never posted through the slots and the drill and nail/birdhouse created a short amount of curiosity, but little more. All a big shame, since the Fisher-Price Learning Tool Bench is tough, colourful, cheerful and everything else a kid should love. Even with early interest, there isn’t that much to engage with over the long-term, so I’m not sure this is restricted to my kids. If you know someone with a real workbench, then maybe the outcome would be different due to the desire to roleplay. I can only reassure on the quality if that were the case, I’m not sure about any of the rest.
