How do you use wide angle in video mode?

There is no difference between video or picture mode as far as zoom is concerned.

What is the quality of the photos, easy to use without lots of bells & whistles & quality of videos?

The quality of the photos is excellent, 16 mega pixels and it can film video in 1080P high definition with sound picked up by the very sensitive built in microphones on the back end of the extendable flash unit. Set to AUTO mode, which is as close as this camera gets to being point and shoot, both the still and video functions are relatively easy to use although you need to set the focus by partially depressing the shutter switch. This is a very capable camera with lots of bells and whistles available even in AUTO mode which I consider advantageous, you may not. This is not the type of camera that you can pull out of the box and be proficient with unless you already have some familiarity with high quality photo equipment or are willing to invest a little or a lot of time learning how to use it.

Can the flash be shut off

I use my camera for music events where no flash is allowed. I just keep the cap down. Not sure there is another way, but that works for me.

Does anyone know if the offer with the 'free accessories': case, card, etc, ALSO has the batteries, charger, neck strap, etc?
