This is one of the most wonderfully illustrated storybooks ever. It's a large format fitting the story of an elephant! Mesmerizing for a chld and adult alike. It is both story and factual in it's story line. You will not be disappointed in any way with this amazing artful book. It would be a lovely gift, even if you a big kid! A keeper.

Wow! Even seeing the imagery from the book and understanding it is oversized and jampacked with interesting information did not prepare me for how much I loved this book - not to mention my 6-year old granddaughter. It's one of those books memories are made of. I'm sure she'll keep it for a good long time.

Great storyline!

Great book. Quirky and soooo much fun to look at and read! Obscure references which bear witness to literacy. Timely delivery too.

Boring. Lots of random facts about things no preschooler would have any interest in. The printing is very small and the "plot" is dull so no older child will want to read it either. I don't understand the high marks it's gotten here but I notice no one is saying, "My kids wanted me to read it to them over and over." Mine didn't even want to read it once.

Everything you would want in a book for a young child. Simple story with lots of small facts for a kids to learn. Nice art work. I needed this for a literature class.

Purchase for a friend's small child to be part of a permanent library for her

Beautifully illustrated and very informative story book for adults as well as the 7 year old to whom it was bought. Great to see such a quality publication, a midst all the poor, substandard literature that is mass produced for kids these days!

Wonderful book combining a beautiful story with a host of quirky interesting facts lovely illustrations, perfect for 6 up.

Pictures are beautifully illustrated. The story is simple but Marcel's encyclopedia enables readers to craft imaginary stories on their own. I bought it for my 3-year-old son but adults may enjoy studying a lot from this picture book!
