Learning JavaScript Design Patterns: A JavaScript and jQuery Developer's Guide

Great Intro to Design Patterns in Javascript
Addy does a great job of introducing a variety of design patterns and provides nice examples for each. I'm a pretty new developer so some of the concepts were a bit over my head, but I still got a lot out of this book. I definitely recommend it to any developer regardless of experience level.

I liked it.
Code examples not online and a fair amount of typo's. However, great examples and very thorough. blah blah blah blah.

Recommended read for any developer owrking with JavaScript
I like to think about this book as 3 books in one. The first 8 chapters are dedicated to explore and explain patterns, their creation process. their utility and an insight into the pattern community. The design patterns exploration start on chapter 9 while dedicating chapter 10 exclusively to the different flavors of Model View patterns. If the book was only that I will be very happy, but (like in a Sunday morning infomercial, there is more!)Chapter 11 is an in depth discussion of the different modules systems in use today, with an special emphasis on AMDIt depends on your knowledge of module systems, but even if you use them you may find some nuggets of information in there. I did. Finally, the next two chapters are dedicated to design patterns in jQuery itself and exploring some of the patterns used for jQuery plug-in design. You may find this last two chapters redundant but I think that the inclusion in the book is very wise, specially with how ubiquitous jQuery is today.

Technical and hard to understand for beginners
This is a required text for a course on JavaScript. This is a fairly technical text that assumes the reader is well versed in other programming languages. I would prefer a more plainly written text with less programming jargon as I am still a novice. But for someone delving into JavaScript who already knows another language such as php or c++, this might be less of an issue
