Tenku by Softball

Welcome Surprise
I saw this album on an Asian Man Records order form that came with a cd I bought. It sounded interesting enough. All female "bubblegum" punk band from Japan. I bought it hoping it would be good, and it turned out, it was Great. You have to love it when you buy an album, never hearing any of the bands songs, hoping that its a good album, and it turns out to be exellent. There is a funny little quirk with this album. Most of the songs are in english, only one and a half aren't, but at first I thought it wasn't. You honestly cannot understand what they are singing, then you look at the lyrics in the cd's booklet, and you can suddenly understand everything they're saying. Once you know the words, you can't help but sing along.I'll be honest here, I listened to the album way too much right after I got it, and although its still good, its not as good now. Hopefully in a few months, I'll re-fall-in-love with it. Either way, you should buy it if you're thinking about doing so. Although, the songs may get stuck in your head for about a week.

All girl J-Punk at its best.
Tenku is the first full length album by the all girl punk band from Chiba-Japan, Softball. Definately one of my favorite albums of all time, full of fast, catchy, melodic punk songs. The album has that "first record" sound associated with most punk bands that couldn't afford to record in a high price studio. This is a blessing that compliments such songs on the album as: "Bright"-Fast,catchy and full of energy."Status" "Things" and "Baby"-Will be in your head instatly with there great hooks. "Attack me more" and "Rise up"-Fast songs that show Softball's more aggressive side. All in all an amazing album.
