Yes, the Women of the Ancient World do Have a Voice!
Another great source book for those interested in women in antiquity. This book contains a good deal of introductory material on each writer (to the extent it exists), reference notes for each chapter and an extensive bibliography. It would make an excellent reference for a research based, upper level undergraduate course in Classics, Women's Studies, or Religious Studies.

A vital collection of an impressive array of creative works. I was especially impressed with the inclusion of many of the Mothers of the Christian Church whose writings are hard to find and too often neglected. The translations of Proba's Cento and the poems of Eudocia are worth the price of the whole book.

An excellent sourcebook
I research the histories of women in philosophy, and Plant preserves almost all of them who wrote anything. Not only is this book a collection of women's writings in various fields (medicine, philosophy, letters, etc.), Plant gives us authoritative histories of his subjects by person or group.

Accurato, aggiornato, agile. Molto utile
Testo compilato con cura e rispetto delle fonti. Molto comodo per un immediato riferimento bibliografico. Richiede, per un pieno frutto, conoscenza della materia. Lo consiglio a docenti e studenti ma anche cultori e lettori.
