this has some good pieces, but because it's an easy way to find quality monologues, it's over used and the theatre professionals can get tired of hearing some of them. a good way to use this would be to get the book and then find a character you like in a quality play and then research the play and find a different monologue within that play and use that, so you're not doing a monologue that the director has already heard a million times.

Really helpful
I got this book for a summer acting class. This is a really good book of monologues for someone that is new to theater. There a lot of monologues that vary from different age and race. I found it to be really helpful when I had to choose a monologue for the class.

Good.
I recommend it. Just as described, variety of monologues. I only wish that it would label them as comedic or dramatic.

Dont' get if your looking for Comic Monlogues
I got this book looking for a variety of Monologue. I feel this book is lacking in the comic genre. All the monlogues are very heavy. Even Monologues written by Durang and other humorous Authors are the most serious parts in their plays. Also doesn't give much range even in dramatcis genre. Good if you are a female in your mid to late 30's (I'm mid twenties)
