I received the unit quickly after ordering it, and setting it up with the single thumbscrew was very easy. I set it on the desk in my office just about 12" away and turned it on. I now spend at least 15-20 minutes a day sitting next to it before work; on the days I work from home, I am in front of it all the time. My mood is better, more even and just happier. There is a different type of lamp (not this kind) that is used for psoriasis treatment and that doesn't block UV light so that can do the same kind of damage as the sun can. There is a possibility that if you stare at this light for long periods of time it could cause eye damage, but in the product instructions it tells you not to stare at it (although glances are fine).
