water tastes and looks more pure
Water tastes SO MUCH BETTER. No solids visible anymore, either. Hard to believe the difference. Much cheaper than British Berkeley and it's still NSF certified. My complaint: The spiket is slow and easy to over and under tighten (it leaks readily, but if you get it the right tension it's good).Non-problem: The ceramic candle filters take a while to filter the first batch, but now we just use the faucet hose to keep more in the top portion and haven't been bothered by the speed at all.

Welcome relief from the HIGHLY chlorinatamounts of ced city water
Since moving to this small Oregon city six months ago, I had been buying bottled water because the tap water had unbelievable levels of chlorine taste and smell. I am renting so putting a built in (plumbed) filter wasn't an option. This gravitational system was the right answer. The water tastes much better; it is easy to fill and maintain the system; the system is attractive sitting on my counter. I am careful to check water levels in top and bottom reservoirs when refilling so as not to overfill. I usually do this before bedtime because it takes quite a long time for the water to filter through. If several people are using the water, refilling more often may be necessary. You don't need to wait until all of the water filters through to the dispensing container. Water is available at the spigot as soon as it is in the bottom container . The filters last at least six months but they are fairly expensive.

Nice but Doulton filters do not remove red food coloring.
Easy to assemble and water tastes clean. I recommend buying a water gauge since water will seep out around the edge between the two tanks if you overfill the top reservoir. I don't drink a full tank everyday, so need to know how much to refill the upper tank at night. Fill it too much and you'll have water to clean up the next morning. You also may want a TDS Tester in case you need to filter various waters.UPDATE 1/5/2021: I just received the TDS water tester and was surprised at the high numbers. The test came out higher than Britta filtered water and tap water. You cannot determine from the TDS filter whether the solids are good or bad solids in the filtered water. So I decided to empty the filter and put red food coloring in the top reservoir water, expecting to have clear water this morning. It is still pink although not as dark as the water I filled it with. So I have written to the seller for a fix. Will update this review later.UPDATE 1/6/2021: Per Doulton, "TDS is a measure of total dissolved solids in the water. A slight increase in TDS will be due to the presence of the natural and harmless mineral Wollastonite in the ceramic. Wollastonite is slightly soluble in water, so may partly dissolve in the water as it passes through the filter. The red dye test is something that Berky filters do , nothing that we do."

Awesome water!
As usual before buying a product I read reviews. The only 2 complaints I remember was the cheap spout and the sticker being hard to remove.I figured no big deal, ordered the stainless spout at the same time to take care of that problem. The sticker literally took 5 minutes to remove under hot water, a little alcohol to get the residue off and it looks great. All in all I give it a 5 star rating, and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants good water with out all the bad that comes from plastic.

Excellent Taste
The only complaint t is that the lid is loose. A little too big, like it was for another water filter.

Defective parts, possibly dangerous.
I wrote a review of this just the other day, not favorable. I'm sure I'm like a lot of you and am sick and tired of ordering a product that is junk. For example, 50% of the auto parts I have ordered from amazon has failed costing me the time and money to replace parts. This particular item was defective from the start, the water spigot leaked, dripping water all of the floor. I decided to just send it back instead of messing around with trying to get a replacement part. Upon disassembling the first filter came off easily, the second was stuck on pretty good, when I applied more force to turn the filter against the nut, the ceramic filter busted apart. Ceramic shards are sharp resulting in 3 small cuts on my hand. A word of caution for those of you that decide to purchase this. Be sure to wear some type of glove before working with the filters, this could be very dangerous.
