High quality, thick and absorbent padding - using for non-eye wound bandaging
I have had two dermatological excisions which are long, but shallow, cuts with stitches. They don't hurt much but do have a lot of drainage and need to be protected from abrasions and bumps. These eye patches have been ideal. I got the idea when the dermatologist's nurse gave me some to take home. The doubled up gauze she put on there first all soaked through. These are packaged as well as any other sterile dressings I have seen. The size was just right for me but since they don't seem to come in other sizes they would only work for some. I had to have my wounds changed 2x/day and they never stuck. (I went to paper tape as I was getting severe swelling and pain from peeling off the tapes - I tried several types - from these super sticky adhesives.)

Nice Thick & Soft Pads That Can be Used in Different Ways.
I was impressed when the box of 50 arrived and I opened one as a test. The pad is relatively thick and cushiony. I was intrigued when another reviewer mentioned that the pads can be used for other wounds or as padding, and now I understand what they meant. This fact makes buying a box of 50 more practical, as I have only encountered an eye injury once.

Soft and absorbent
Used for a facial cancer tumor. Shape was perfect. Versatile for many applications besides the eye.

Superior To Plain Gauze
Eye shields in emergency care are good but having a soft padding underneath can spell the difference between tolerable and not for the patient. These are not abrasive and can be moistened if indicated. Projected shelf life of at least 20 years if kept from moisture.

Worked great!
These were used for my mother who had eye surgery and required a new eye pad every few hours. They never stuck to her skin and were comfortable underneath the goggles she had to wear.
