Bandai Hobby Bandai Star Wars TIE - Advanced X1

I gifted the Bandai Hobby - Star Wars - TIE Advanced X1 model kit to my dad, a die-hard Star Wars fan, and it was a hit! High quality kits! Fit and finish is perfect, no crappy flash to trim off, secure no-glue construction. I’m an amateur builder/painter but these things look awesome when complete.

This is my second model from Ban Dai. The first was Luke's X-Wing. I'm now a huge fan of Ban Dai!!! If you've ever had a model that just was a mess and parts looked bad and parts didn't fit and you either trudged through to the bitter end or just put the box aside. These you won't! This company has made it an art form. I've never had models that when you put parts together the seams disappear. Especially the long parts of the X-Wing. Darth Vader's TIE is so detailed. I made use of buffing metallizer's in recessed equipment clusters and MIG dark grey wash on seam lines. These seam lines are so perfect that a touch of wash and the paint zips down the entire length in most cases. Buffing wet wash on the bare plastic parts gives the surface a great look without airbrushing. I'm now hooked. They are a joy to make.

This kit is as easy to build as the other Bandai Star Wars kits - fit and finish, details all excellent I singed this one star because I didn’t like how the panels were pre-molded to the frame - which meant a lot of masking work if you like to paint the kit in the grey-blue color it is supposed to be. That’s said, you can’t go wrong with this kit - having Disney license the Star Wars series was the best thing they did for the franchise (hoe you feel about episodes 7-9 withstanding)

Really easy and quick to put together, and the quality is fantastic! Lots of nice little details that put it over the edge. Definately would buy again.

I purchased the Bandai Star Wars 1/72 scale TIE fighter, Advanced TIE fighter, and X-wing fighter together, and I'm going to write a mass review of all three -- basically because I'm lazy and fail to see any purpose in repeating myself three times. So here goes.... These three kits are amazing -- beautifully molded, exquisitely engineered, flawless in their detail. I have no idea how much access the Bandai moldmakers had to the original studio models, but however they accomplished it, they rendered these three iconic vehicles in jaw dropping detail. These kits are designed to snap-fit together, and they do, solidly and securely, and do so without sacrificing any detail whatsoever. Forget the kits made by MPC and Revell back in the late 70s and 80s -- these are of an order of magnitude better in every respect. In a way, they were worth waiting forty years for: the fanboy in me finally has the Star Wars models he always wanted! A word of caution -- the assembly instructions are a bit confusing, as they are not really linear in their layout and presentation, so it's well worth taking a few minutes to study then before beginning assembly. A nice touch is that the kits all come with two sets of markings, one a set of self-adhesive stickers, probably meant for younger modelers, and the other a full set of conventional decals, for older -- or at least more experienced -- model builders. If you've ever considered yourself a Star Wars fan, you owe it to your inner fanboy to get these kits!

I bought it thinking it was a finished model, but when it came to putting it together I had a lot of fun!!! Incredibly easy to assemble (1:30h) and with impeccable finishes and material quality.

This is a great model with very accurate details and all pieces fit perfectly. This is more of a snap fit model whereby you don't need to glue every piece and the directions tell you where to glue maybe three or four places. Comes with a nice stand and all things considered, it is for collectors as opposed to rough play with kids because of the fine details. I know my grandson broke some parts within a few minutes of play so either put it on a shelf or let them go at it! Keep in mind, this review is only for the model built by Bandai and not how you use it.

Ich habe lange überlegt, ob ich mir wirklich die Modelle von Bandai zulegen soll. Ich hatte damals schon die Auflagen (TIE Fighter und X-Wing) von Fine-Molds, die ich bis heute nicht gebaut habe - obgleich die FM Modelle schon klasse waren. Bandai legt aber noch zwei drauf. Der TIE Advanced ist noch detailierter als das FM Gegenstück und weist eine Passgenauigkeit auf, die ihresgleichen sucht. On Top kommt die Tatsache, dass der ganze Bausatz als Steckbausatz konzipiert ist. Natürlich kann er aber auch geklebt werden. Dabei hat Bandai darauf geachtet, dass es kaum sichtbare Nähte gibt. Die Naht entlang der Rumpfhälften, verläuft nicht geradlinig, sondern folgt den Panellines des TIE Advanced. Abgerundet wird der Bausatz, durch zwei Darth Vader Figuren (1x sitzend, 1x stehend), Klarsichtteile für Cockpit-Kanzel und Dach (alternativ reine Rahmenteile ohne Scheiben), überzeugend wirkende Laserstrahlen und der Dioramenbase mit Todessternoberflächen Ausschnitt. Als Farbmischung der Rumpffarbe habe ich mir folgendes von Revell zusammengerührt: Revell weiß (04) : Mittelgrau (43) : Ultramarinblau (51) im Verhältnis 75% : 23% : 2% Das ergibt ein hellles Grau mit einem Touch blau. Alternativ erhilt ich im Web aus verschiedenen (unbestätigten) Quellen den Vorschlag Tamiya TS-32 Haze Grey (Nebelgrau) zu verwenden. Einzig negativ muss ich anmerken: Man sollte sehr vorsichtig sein, wenn man die Bauteile probestecken möchte. Unter umständen sitzen Sie danach so fest, dass man ssie nicht mehr auseinander bekommt. Das ist mir allerdings keinen punktabzug wert. Bestellt habe ich übrigens bei einem Händler mit Prime-Option. Dadurch wirds zwar 5-8 Euro teurer, ist aber nach 3-4 Tagen geliefert und es fällt kein Zoll bzw. Steuern mehr an.

Very nice model. Very detailed. It even has decals for inside the cockpit, which would never even be seen. Unfortunately the instructions are all Japanese, and that is going to make it hard in some places. I haven't done a model in years so it will be fun building it. Now just need some glue and some paint (all mine has dried up).

Ottima qualità e definizione non necessita di colori ne colla ma se si vuole dare piu profondità al modello si consiglia l'uso di lavaggi con il nero per far risaltare di più i particolari Alcuni pezzi sono delicati quindi bisogna fare molta attenzione però una volta finito è spettacolare
