Camco 10324 Gas Leak Detector with Sprayer - 8 oz

I hesitated buying this because so many people said that this was just as good as soap and water. Well, I’ve lived with the faint smell of gas under my stove for 18 months. I’ve sprayed soapy water under there so many times but no leaks were ever detected. The other day I got a much stronger smell of gas that prompted me to again look with soapy water; still no leaks. But it was enough that I turned off the gas to the cooktop and ordered this. It arrived today and within 5 minutes it found the leak! The joint was tightened and there is no more gas smell under the cooktop. I’m super pleased!

Works just as good as Snoop at a fraction of the cost. Also seems to be better than my homemade versions with soap.

Amazing stuff, WAY better than soapy water. Spotted a leaky air hose fitting immediately with voluminous bubbles, inches across, no question, and that leak was slow enough to be silent; it was just that the compressor triggered on every few days. . Spotted very slow valve stem leaks, just took a few seconds longer. Should would work for AC leaks. I would say it is a must have for any hobbyist.

Did not realize this stuff was caustic. Must rise off sensitive fittings like CSST.

I could just use soapy water, but I like that this product is ready to go for propane leak testing. The bottle does not leak after it is opened. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Works as advertised and the good sized bottle should last years.

I used it to check for leaks on a natural gas bbq line on a home we just purchased. Sure enough, it detected a leak on one of the joints which was quickly fixed.
