Whirlpool 4378411RB In-Line Refrigerator Ice and Water Filter

Having moved recently, we were not happy to note the odd taste of the city water in our area. As our Kenmore refrigerator is the type that dispenses ice and water, we felt that installing an inline filter was a good idea. This filter does a great job of eliminating the strong chlorinated flavor that was in our water. In fact, the difference is so obvious, even our kids commented.My husband knows his way around a tool box so the installation of this filter was fairly routine for him. However, those who are intimidated by the idea of making burr free cuts in a water line may want to look at a different filtering solution. The filter is fairly small and easily tucks away out of sight behind the appliance without forcing the unit further out into the room.

I decided for the price it'd be worth a shot even after reading some of the negative reviews about the water line diameter. Turns out it fit our Galaxy 106.55122700 correctly. Ran some water through til it was clear and cleared out the line. Our water is in the county and pretty hard and makes our ice taste weird. Not anymore! This guy is a charm and will definitely recommend and buy another when it runs out!

Easy to install. 1 make sure water line is off. 2- cut the 1/4 water line where you want and connect to the in side. 3- turn on water and let it flow into a bucket till it runs clear. 4- turn off water. 5- connect other end of line going to fridge. 6- use holder and zip ties to secure. 7- turn on water and put fridge back.Super easy. If your looking to not cut your water line then this isn't the filter you'll want.

Great product. We live in California where the water quality is sub-par at best. Our ice maker would have white chunks in a nice fresh glass which was less than appealing. For the price, I figured we could give this a try rather than pay for ice every week. EASY to install, great clean tasting water and removed all the visible particulates! We will see how long it holds up before needing to be replaced. Package says '12 months'.

We had trouble with our ice having a bit of a nasty plastic/rubber smell and taste. I figured I'd give a filter a try and see if it would work at reducing and/or eliminating it.I ordered the Whirlpool filter and after a quick and easy installation (as well as running water through it for a couple of minutes to clear up the charcoal particles) I was in business. The smell and taste is completely gone! My ice has no weird smell or taste. Can't recommend this filter enough.

this water filter works fine as a secondary filter.....it takes mostly all the chemicals in the water.....the result is a very good ice...I'll continue buy them...

the filter appears to be of good quality. the plastic wraps should be a size larger to make the connection more secure. i will audit the performance and durability of the filter as time proceeds.

Excellent filter. I use this filter in-line in addition to the filter on the bottom of the fridge. So my ice and dispenser water is double filtered and that is fantastic here in Florida due to the fact that we have terribly hard water. I would definitely recommend this filter. It was delivered quickly.
