lamp looks so nice & pretty after assembling
i wasn’t expecting this lamp to be a little difficult to assemble but it’s worth it if u have the patience :) the instructions don’t really guide u how to hook it on right, as i was attempting a couple times. btw the hooks should be facing on top where the two little points are. i truly love the texture of the lamp shade, feels like crinkly paper so be careful stretching it out when placing it on the lamp as it could possibly rip! to me it feels light like paper but yet durable enough :) this one lamp sits on my desk and really brightness my whole bedroom with a warm cozy light. truly like the functionality & size

gorgeous illumination
Other reviewers rated this lamp highly but I still had some reservations because of the price and I thought the shade might be too flimsy. Wrong! This lamp is beautiful. It was very easy to put together. The shade is of a durable beige, parchment-like paper which has horizontal striations and makes a lovely diffuse light. Actually, it's more like bright a glow than a light - gorgeous. The base is well-proportioned in relation to the lamp. I have cats so I just looped the pull chain to keep it out of playful paws. Now it's the perfect lamp.

Nice quality. Awesome ambiance.
Amazing. I connected it to Alexa. My gf loves it when I say Alexa turn on the den light. It comes on 60%. And is beautiful with a movie.

Great lamp, Ikea upgrade
I purchased this lamp to replace an old Ikea Orgel lamp that I had been using for ambient lighting on my desk. The Ikea lamp was cheap and held up great for years and I wanted to finally buy a matching pair. Unfortunately, as with most Ikea products the lamp was discontinued and replaced with a more inferior version. The new version has an in-line switch which is inconvenient and inefficient when the cord is behind a table/desk and not within reach and is also all around smaller and lighter. I found this lamp and the look is so similar that I decided to buy it as a replacement. PROS: -The lamp is well made and the base is nice and weighty, not as heavy as a metal base but sturdy enough. -The paper shade is strong and stiff, large, and has a excellent height for such a tall lamp. It has a pull switch which is convenient and allows you to hide the wire completely behind a table. -It's very easy to assemble and comes with instructions though really none is necessary. -The pole is a thick strong steel (?) piece. -The shade had no underlying odor, which I sometimes find to be a problem with paper shades. CONS: -With tax, this lamp comes to about $40 some odd dollars. Not very expensive but if you're not set on a paper shade look then you can find better priced and better built alternatives. -The wooden ball at the end of the chain and the wooden base are two completely different finishes. -Finally, the most disappointing thing: the wooden base is completely unfinished. I expected it to at least be treated or have some kind of poly but it's like they just put a piece of unfinished wood from Micheal's and called it a day. It looks nice don't get me wrong but I accidentally spilled ice tea while cleaning up my desk and the base soaked up the liquid both from the top and bottom. I now have a large dark tea stain on the base. I'll be stopping by Homedepot to get some dark walnut stain to cover it up and some poly to seal it but just thought it's important to be aware before you order that you might have to do extra work to give the lamp a more finished look.

nice way to bring a change to your room
This is a very nice, simple lamp. The one in the picture appears a bit more 'finished' than what arrives (base seems to be lacquered), which is a little misleading - you receive an unfinished piece of wood for a base. Which is nice if you want to stain it to match your furniture, but still, bit misleading there (yes, it says 'natural' but why have it finished in the picture? Why not say 'unvarnished' instead?). The lamp is a very neutral shade and does look very nice, especially for something that is basically a bit of wood, metal and paper. Assembly is easy and doesn't take very long, and it has a nice height to it, making it stand out in a living room or bedroom but not taking up too much space on a table or nightstand. The paper helps to soften the cast light a little. Over all, this is a unique lamp that adds something different to your room without too much effort or cost.

cooler than expected😎
phew, i almost bought a 20$ kind that was popular but too small so i dug deeper thru amazon to find this one. used a 40watt frosted globe bulb reccomended by a person who bought the tall version, and it looks great, the maxx 100 watt would have been overkill. it was a little confusing how to assemble it in the begining but only took 10 minnutes. i want to buy a few more to place around my room, it is medium sized, convenient and can be placed anywhere and look good. very good reading light. warm glow, rather than hardcore overbright light. it lights up about half the room. great for if you are trying to reduce blue light too. wood base, wood pull string switch. i really like this lamp, transports me to japan every time i turn it on.

Shabby, wrinkled lampshade
I purchased 2 of these lamps about 6 years ago and they were very high quality. Recently, one broke and I bought a replacement, hoping to have a match for the bedside tables. The new packaging condenses the paper shade down to less than an inch. When you spread out the shade, it looks like a scrunched up, wrinkled shade that came out of the sale bin at Salvation Army. I put the lamp together and prayed that the wrinkled mess of a shade would smooth out. Delusional thinking on my part. This lamp is shabby….not really chic. I can’t recommend at all.

Lovely light!
It's hard to capture it in the picture, but this makes a really nice warm light. It was easy to assemble. The base looks finished to me, not sure why others say it's not, or maybe it used to be like that. It has a mild gloss. Overall it looks great!

Nice, but not great quality for the price. But, I like the look, I have one from Ikea, it was 1/3 rd of the price, and better quality. Unfortunately, they discontinued the product, so I payed more for this one just for the look.

For us it worked out well as most of it is hidden, standing in a corner. The material is wood fiber and had to be pressed together for shipping and of course opening up left some wrinkles, would not use it as free standing, Otherwise it looks good .
