Mine doesn't do anything--regardless of which direction the switch is the mic is always on...** A: Either I have a "lemon" or my unit does not function as it should ALL the time. I had experienced audio bleeding at one baseball game I was announcing at. The switch was in the OFF position. I immediately went to my backup switch ($11 inline switch) and I was fine. I had an audio tech look at my unit and all he said he did was take the base apart and spray the internal of the switch with cleaner. After it was completely dry, he reassembled the base and gave the this switch back to me. It was working fine for about 2 weeks and then all of a sudden that audio bleed started all over again. So back to the $11 inline switch that works fine. I'm going to by a few more of the inline switch. It's too bad because when this switch works, I like it. However, my unit is NOT dependable. **Q: Does this have power to it? I have something similar to this but it's for an ove the ear mic. The switch box is powered by a 9 volt battery.** A: No power. This is totally passive and has good isolation in the base. **Q: Can this work with the shure super 55 and 55 sh (elvis mic)?** A: Should work fine as long as the mic does not require phantom power although it can work as long as you are not switching it on and off. That can cause a might loud pop. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's solid. *by on Reviewed in the United States November 1, 2024* It works great. It's big enough and heavy enough that you don't worry about the mic tipping it over. Works well with our mic and wireless transmitter. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprisingly worth the money. Rock solid and well made *by on Reviewed in the United States November 1, 2017* If you're like me, you would have opted for any other cheaper base to get the job done but there isn't much of a section out there. The first thing I thought to myself when I unpacked the "LyxPro XBM-8 Microphone Desktop Base" is "Yep, this is definitely a $40 base." It has a good heft to it and everything about it says quality. I no longer regret spending $40 on a mic base. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality, works great *by on Reviewed in the United States November 16, 2018* Excellent product. Works well. The on-off switch its great. I use it over the pulpit at church. Great for preaching. 100% recommend. ## Frequently Bought Together - LyxPro XBM-8 Microphone Desktop Base with Built-in XLR Socket for Podium & Gooseneck Microphones Anti-slip Table Top Base On/Off Switch - MRSDY Gooseneck Microphone, 23 Inch DJ Microphone for Audio Mixer, Professional XLR Wired Dynamic Mic, Extended Black Metal Noise Reduction Mic, Supports 360° Rotation and Bending --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.nl/products/10934233-xbm-8-xlr-gooseneck-microphone-desktop-base-with-on-off](https://www.desertcart.nl/products/10934233-xbm-8-xlr-gooseneck-microphone-desktop-base-with-on-off) --- *Product available on Desertcart Netherlands* *Store origin: NL* *Last updated: 2026-10-29*
