Strong Smell, but Awesome Product
I'm renovating my son's bathroom that has the old, pink, trim tiles and tub. I've never painted tile before so I taped everything off and had the idea to use Kilz primer on part of the trim tiles first to see if that would help with covering the medium pink color. It did, but it's totally not necessary to use primer first. I used just this spray on the wall tiles part of the bathroom to see which way is better and it's much better by itself and this product comes out smoother and shinier without using a primer first. It's not a thick spray, normal spray paint consistency, so it leaked a tiny bit under the tape along the grout line, but was really easy to clean up my lines with some careful sanding after it dried. Comes right off with sand paper, but not my nails when I scratched it so see how it holds up. The smell is a beast so figure out how to ventilate the area and wear a painter's mask if it bothers you too much. I just took lots of breaks, kept the bathroom vent fan running, and had a standing fan blowing in the room to keep the air moving. It took two coats to cover the pink completely and looks perfect. I'll add pics of before and after when I finish the bathroom completely.

Used to purchase this product at local hardware stores now no longer unavailable. Work on homes for investors and this is A great product to touch up or refinish sinks.

Eighth Circle of Hell.
I am not a stupid woman. I read and research before I throw myself head first into projects I have limited experience doing. Bob Villa’s website has an article titled “the best tub refinishing kits of 2023“ and the author listed the Magic tub kit as #4- “most user-friendly”. I just spent 13 hours removing caulk, cleaning as per included directions, and putting three coats of this product on my tub/surround. The cans sputter and drip before they’re even half empty. There are droplets all over the surface that cannot be corrected. I laughed and kept going when this first happened because what else can you do? The fumes are beyond noxious- even with the bathroom window open and fan directing the fumes out. The spray is a fine mist that gets everywhere and creates a cloud that you can barely see through. By the time I made it through the fourth can I was actively cursing Bob Villa’s name and his ridiculous website. This stuff is dust and will cover you, your house, and your lungs- regardless of whether or not you’re wearing an n95 mask. Update: The only thing “Magic” about this product is how it’s ever gotten more than 1 star. It took 4 cans of Goof Off professional strength spray to remove it from my surround/tub. That stuff could be called magic and I highly recommend it for the poor souls that ignored the reviews and tried to use the magic tub and tile spray. I then re-cleaned and re-sanded the tub and surround and applied Rustoleum’s tub and tile refinisher (it’s a kit that contains a 2 part epoxy that you can roll or brush on). It’s just as noxious and labor intensive but you can actually achieve great results! All in all, this was a horrific experience thanks to the Magic tub kit- save yourself the trip to hell and skip straight to the rustoleum product.

Bathroom sink with heavy painted design - worked well, but chipped in 3 weeks.
UPDATE: Three weeks and I see chips. This is a very low use sink. Disappointing. Had an old bathroom sink that didn't go well with the rest of the room. It was cream color with heavily patterned flowers which I didn't like. I looked at replacing it but couldn't find a sink with no holes so decided to try painting it. I chose spray over rollers or brushes. I cleaned it well and worked in the garage (with doors open) and used a heavy mask (not a medical mask). I did four light sprays letting it dry an hour in between. It looks pretty good though the texture is not as smooth as I hoped. Maybe I didn't clean it as well as I thought and left behind some grit from sanding. It still looks way better than before and I'm happy with it. Funny how one change can make such a big difference. Pix 1 is original sink, pix 2 is after first coat (I did four very light coats). Last pix is the sink installed. Looks way better than having a flowery sink with the highly patterned tile (installed by previous owner).

Excellent on my fiberglass shower tub. Shiny. Nice, easy spraying
I did the bottom of my fiberglass 5-foot tub which had three cracks I had repaired with epoxy. These repair spots were certainly going to give a potential buyer of my house a negative feeling. (Whether people consciously see defects or not, they see them subconsciously.) I put 4 coats on the bottom of the tub (2 would have been fine), using up one of the two cans. IT LOOKS GREAT! SHINY! AWESOME! Follow the directions! Clean it well. Spray it on at a high room temperature so when the coatings cool they are in compression (as opposed to applying cool, causing the coatings to expand and crack when the room gets warm). I am allowing it to cure at a high room temperature for the recommended 72-hours. I did not rate Durability, but with the excellent-and-easy spraying and the awesome shiny coating, I am fairly confident that it will last.

I used this product to refinish a steel bathtub. I read the instructions and made sure preparation was done carefully to get the best result. Sadly, the finish was very rough throughout. I was very disappointed as a lot of time and effort was put into this only to get these results.

Very rough finish. Chips easily. Don't stare at it too hard, it might chip again.
