I have had knee problems since High School sports, I am now in my mid fifties. I have used a variety of braces over the years. I have stretch tendons and now finally Patella Osteoarthritis. I have been avoiding surgery, doc wants to do a tendon release. I have used many braces over the last 35 years. This last flair up about year ago I had to get shots and start wearing braces for anything more than walking around the house. The doc prescribed Genutrain brace; Genutrain was the worse brace I have worn besides walmart specials. The Neo G knee brace is fantastic. I have only worn it for a month. I wear it almost everyday; Out working in the yard, climbing up & down ladders doing construction projects at home. This brace can be worn all day long (16 hour days) and is very comfortable. The brace sometimes will slip about 1/2 inch but is easily readjusted with just a small tug. The brace still allows full movement. I still wear a heavier duty brace (McDavid) for more strenuous activities. The Mcdavid brace has cross support both above and below the knee, but I can only wear that brace for about 3-4 hours. With the McDaivid I also wear an inner liner that keeps the brace from rub my skin raw, I do not the the liner with the Neo G brace. The mcDaivid also restricts movement and bunches up behind the knee. I have not been brave enough to try the Neo G for heavy duty activity. but it would probably work just fine. THe Universal sizing works great; Takes the guess work out of buying the wrong size brace. As far as shipping times from the UK. They are fantastic, just over one week to receive the brace. As long as I can get one year out of this brace, it is worth every Penny, shilling, Euro that it cost. This brace is a must for minimal to at least moderate support activities. Thank you Neo G

Awesome brace! I have arthritis in my knee and it hurts to walk. The MD says I'm about 4 years out from a replacement. I don't plan to sit for 4 years. I discovered that a brace with side stabilizers would hold my knee in stable position so that the damaged areas would be less likely to rub against each other which eases pain significantly. I need to wear the brace sun up to sun down. I tried two other braces with stabilizers. One was comfortable, but wouldn't stay up. The other would stay up but would pinch like heck after awhile and would limit bending. Then I found this one. It is awesome. It stays in place. It bends easily. It doesn't pinch - I have actually worn it on 4 transatlantic plane rides with no discomfort. It holds my knee in place so that I can do my two mile walk with little discomfort. If I put it on just right, I can be almost pain free. It goes on by wrapping around your knee, not like pulling it up like a sock. I love this brace. However I must give two warnings. It takes forever to dry after washing, so, if you are like me and need to wear it all the time, buy two of them so you can have one to wear while the other one dries. The second is that it is warm. I was extra hot wearing it out doors in 90 degree heat, but I was quite willing to be warm to be able to walk around without pain on my recent trip to Europe (no bragging intended). It does show up on airport scans, but after a short personal exam, I was passed thru. Oh, one more caveat - stairs are not conquered by this brace. Somedays stairs are no problem and some days they are. I haven't figured out yet what makes the difference but the brace makes them a LOT easier to do even on bad days.

...Or, 'Comfortable Support With Fewer Velcro Straps.' I've trawled the internet and news items, seeking out authoritative medical articles and the upshot is that many people with sore but not swollen joints get surgery too early or unnecessarily. I opted for 'Plan B', the one that costs me or the taxpayer far less money. I wear a set of knee braces and an ankle brace all day and most days to deal with arthritic joints. For more than a year, I have been using McDavid Level II braces with good results. Their drawback is an extra set of Velcro straps and their pull-on sleeve design, which bunches a bit at the back when I am sitting. Enter Neo G with its open wrap-around design and similar side stays. This is a 'one-size fits most' package so users won't have issues with selecting the wrong size (as many do with other 'sleeve-based' products.) The trade-off is a bit less compression and support. Neo G also has strong reinforcement tabs to prevent the stabilizer springs from wearing through the ends of their pockets. I would expect that this will give the set a longer useful life than the McDavid item. (My first set of McDavids wore through in a few months but my second set has been good for over six months.) With this Neo G set, I still get good distribution of stress away from the joint and I also get a bit less moisture build-up due to the backless design. I like Neo G very well but I will continue to keep a set of McDavid braces for alternating wear. Note: After three months of use and washings, the wide but thin Velcro tabs tend to curl up around the edges. This Velcro is less aggressive than that used by McDavid and the Neo G tabs can come loose during use.

When I first got this brace I was disappointed as it seemed so thin.. Comparing it to the first brace I bought with the side hinges, it really looked puny (thin), like it was not going to do very much.. But that perception changed very fast when my knee really started feeling better in less than a week.. It looks like a thicker brace in the picture, but doesn't matter, the results are what counts and this brace produces excellent results! I have also tried a few smaller knee braces, they did nothing for me. I've had this brace for just one month now and I am amazed at how much it has helped my knee issue! Diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in my right knee, a past 7 year chronic Lyme disease (cured) injury that is permanent. Lyme likes the big joints and knees are the most affected. I had originally purchased a different brace on Amazon, the kind with the side hinges.. That brace squeaked as I walked and it made my knee feel even worse and it was uncomfortable wearing it and could not bend my knee very easily.. I returned that brace to Amazon with absolutely no problems and I decided to stay away from using any brace.. But as my knee worsened and I feared a knee replacement was in my future as I could not take a step without severe pain. So I decided to try one more brace.. The Neo G Medical Grade Open Knee was my second choice when I first looked at braces, what turned me off about this brace were the many complaints about the Velcro not holding up.. But the mention of this being a MEDICAL GRADE brace was the reason I decided to buy and try to see it was a better brace.. Almost from the instant I started wearing this brace, my knee pain was improving, about a week later, there was no more knee pain except on cold rainy days.. I was hoping this brace would help with some of the pain, yet a month later, there is no pain in my right knee when I walk or sit!! And about bending my knee with it on, absolutely no problem, very comfortable! A few days I forgot to put the brace on early in the day, there still was NO pain! That was pretty amazing! This brace not only offers support, but it also has eliminated my knee pain! And about that Velcro issue, so far the Velcro on my brace works well, just like Velcro is supposed to work, NONE of it is lifting.. I no longer am thinking about a knee replacement as on most days I no longer have any knee pain.. This brace deserves 10 STARS! This brace greatly exceeded my expectations...

Seems more like a compression device than a brace and it is not a brace. The three ribs on both sides hold wire loop rods [two on each side]. The batons are very flexible in one direction but gain resistance when two or more directions of force are applied. They do not really ad a whole lot of resistance but it is noticeable if you take them out. I found for my situation [minor tear of mcl - bottom] that putting three on the mcl side and none on the other was the most comfortable and effective for me. This does allow the device to bunch up a bit on the side with no stays but I find that more supportive of the knee. I use this mostly just when I am at the computer to keep from putting odd pressure on the knee and gardening. Issues: Middle wrap is too short and I needed to put a strip of loops from some extra velcro material I had to cover some of the hooks and keep them from digging into my leg. An extension should be included I would think 4 inches. All of the straps have no substance too them and fold in nasty ways at times. A thin layer of eva foam would resolve this most likely but I think I'll try sheepskin. Tried it skiing and it was very difficult to work with under a suit. First half of the day it slid off the patella but held on the knee and did add some support but I did not get to high speeds that day [as it was a new snow day] to see if it helps stabilize my MCL.

Since the injury to my knees I have been wear a couple different brands and not too happy. One is massive monster that has side stabilizing, flexing braces. Very good, but for one problem. Those side braces presses on my injured tendon so for me, right now, they HURT. Tried another, and they didn't stay in place and didn't provide the support I need. Like Goldilocks, this one is just right. It has three Velcro straps that pull/adjust to your size, so it's basically one size for all. It has metal stabilizing bars that are in pockets that run to the side of the knee cap (where I really want the support. They have flaps where these can be removed if need. The flaps on the pocket also can be used as a lockdown on the upper thigh strap, so that strap stays in place instead of sliding down. The straps go across the whole front of the leg, giving a secondary support to the brace. What I like most is the back of the thigh and the back of the knee is cut a little shorter. This is very handy when the knees is bent (like when you drive). The others tend to be the same height all the way around, which causes bunching in the back. That can be very painful on the joints. I get good support, support in the right place, less aggravation, and the compression/warm really ease my knees when I have to walk.

I have bad knees, need both an MCL and ACL repair. I play competitive level badminton and it's extremely demanding on the knees. It's been 2+ months and I have worn these Neo G braces at least 3 times a week and they are first-rate. The Neo G minimizes my knee pain. I have over 10 other different knee braces (Don Joy, Zamst, Mueller, Breg, ACE, McDavid, Victor and Yonex (badminton specific braces)), have a done bunch of research on my knees, and I didn't think the Neo G would be the answer but it is; I'm very happy. Badminton is a very specific sport. It has specific footwork and you lunge, leap, arch your back more than other sports. It's more like ballet or gymnastics. Anyway, the reasons I feel the NeoG works are: 1) metal spring bars are adjustable and flexible, they give. 2) straps are elastic and give, 3) open patella support also help stabilize the knee. For badminton, I need a taut but not too tight fitting brace; if too tight it can hinder, even further injure the knees. Hinged braces don't work because for me because they limit your movement and can easily be too tight. I can go even further in detail but I'll spare you, just trust me, if you do badminton or something close to it, these Neo Gs are for you.

With leg measurements of 18" above my knee and 17" below, I'm a little too small for 'plus size' knee braces, and a little too large for most 'one size' versions, so I've tried (and returned) several different models before I found one which would stay up and not cut off my circulation. This brace is working for me BUT I'm obviously at the maximum size limit - the elastic has plenty of stretch and would probably go to 20 inches at the top of your leg, but the side stabilisers are so far forward that they're almost on the front of my knee instead of at the sides... There are little velco covers over them and the stabilisers themselves are removable. Also there are two little velco 'dots' at the end of the elastic which are supposed to be on the brace but it's a little tight unless I leave them off, in which case the brace still fits fine (there's plenty of velco at the far end of the elastic and the elastic itself has more than enough stretch) but the dots rub on my leg and I'll have to find a way to cover them.
