Boy my washer was unbalanced. I looked up on You Tube how to re-balance it and it comes down to 3 springs. Two side springs and the all important back Suspension Spring. Not brain surgery. My suspension spring had rusted at the bottom. I tried to take the rusted part off and re-bend what's left but that leaves the long part of the spring a tad short, and still unbalanced! This inexpensive spring was cheaper buying it on Amazon and figuring it out myself instead of the easy way out to just "call Sears". Much more expensive!! Such a simple part but important to your washer's operation.

Perfect replacement & easy to install. Because the washer motor is mounted up front, this spring is important to pull the back side down to keep the tub balanced, otherwise it'll be wobbling big time and/or the tub will be leaning to far forward causing the water input to hit the top edge of tub spraying all over internally and down to the floor.If your machine has extended years on it, I'd also consider changing the three lateral springs on the bottom of tub to improve stability issues.

I wasn't sure if I would need to replace this spring or not because the old one looked like it was in good shape. But, the washer was going out of balance all the time. So, I replaced the spring and it's working better now.

We were able to figure out the problem w our washing machine by a youtube video. This piece was under $5 and got to us quick so we could fix our machine. It was back to working no problem right away. piece is exactly what we needed and for our model #. Saved us a ton of money.

I saw our washer was shaking a lot and took it apart and saw it was rusting and came out. I decided to buy this one and so far it has been working just fine and the washer is not shaking uncontrollably as much.

Washer was walking all over the basement during the spin cycle. I replaced all the balance springs, (this part along with the 3 other springs on my washer), and the plastic wear pads. Now even with a full, heavy load it stays put.

Just got this today and put it in. Fits Whirlpool Model LA8580XWW2. In my case, the spring that was in there was in one piece​, but the hole broke. There are two holes on the back panel you can connect it too that will do the trick. I put it to the farthest one down. I just replaced the rusty one with the new one and it works great.
