Would this fit in a Christmas cracker?

Not in a standard cracker that one can buy anywhere, the toy is too chunky for the opening and the space inside the cracker is not wide enough. If you created a cracker around the toy then it's a different matter.

Is this compatible with brio?

Yes, the metal engine series from trackmaster do fit the brio tracks, just like brio trains also fit the trackmaster rails. (But they are not meant for them.) Hope this helps!
