Sold so far on tungsten.
I’ve sharpened about 60-70tungsten on this so far and still going strong. And at least 30 was brand new never sharpened. Takes about 45 sec on a new tungsten. And about 5-10 secs to touch up a used tungsten

cheap way to grind tungsten or carbide on HF 3" grinder
I saw many reviews that mentioned the 3" bench grinder from HF as an option for mounting this. That grinder has a 10mm arbor diameter, and only one of the three options for this product has that exact size hole in the middle. Reviews for all three seem to be lumped together, so some mention that they had to make an adapter to fit a disk with a 1/2" hole. This is easy if you have a lathe, but if you don't, make sure you get the one with the 10mm bore. It's listed in its description as having a 3/8" bore, but that's not accurate. It's 10mm, and it fits the HF grinder just fine.As others have said, this combination is a fine way to either touch up a carbide tool or re-point a tungsten electrode. For me, this puts two new tricks up my sleeve.

Nice solid base...
Good, well balanced heavy wheel. I only wish they made different grits. Not sure why I can't seem to find any other grits for 3" wheels. 150 seems to be the only one available. Would like to see other grits.

Finally, I can sharper my stumper teeth!

Works good!
Works good , but was too tall for my mini grinder. I had to take the guard off. Ordered another. Used it until I got the new one. Works good on gemstones and crystals. Careful it is agressive.

Good wheel for pointing tungsten elecdtrodes
Nice diamond wheel. Works great for pointing TIG electrodes. It gets a 3 rating because the wheel is out of balance, causing grinder to move around, so had to clamp grinder to bench. There is no wheel on the other end of the grinder's shaft and without the diamond wheel, the grinder is motionless (no vibration). Not the end of the world but it would be nice if the wheel was better balanced. I even tried turning it at 90 degree increments on the shaft to improve the balance point, without success.

Order a year ago, still great
Ordered a year ago for sharpening tungsten rods. Cuts them like butter and leaves a good smooth grind. Very happy with especially for the price.

Hard to believe how good this is for the price
I set this wheel up for carbide lathe tool sharpening and TIG tungsten dressing. It cuts carbide tips like butter on the radial face and leaves a great finish with the 150 grit. The flat axial sides are perfect for dressing TIG electrodes and since the surfaces are not shared with carbide cutting it keeps the TIG tips from any possible contamination. Also impressed by how true it runs when properly shimmed on a (3/8" arbor) mini bench grinder - it's difficult to see that it's actually spinning! Overall, a great value.
