Allows my vessel sink to drain completely
I recently installed a vessel sink which has a flat inner surface - no slope. I first installed a drain with a pop-up. It looked great but it was raised up enough that the water could not completely drain from the sink. Upon closer examination, I could see that the diameter of the flange was a little too big for the recessed area in the vessel. This drain has a smaller flange diameter and it sits perfectly flush with the bottom of the sink so it drains completely! It has a nice oil-rubbed bronze finish and the drain holes are tear drop shaped so it has a vintage feel. This is perfect for my very old house.Another nice thing is that there are installation instructions included in the box. Anyone who is even moderately handy can install this easily. I did add some plumber's putty under the flange just to make sure it would be completely leak proof, but it probably wasn't necessary.Note: this is a drain for a non-overflow sink, like a vessel sink. There are no overflow holes beneath the flange. This drain does not have a pop-up sink stopper so if you want to fill your sink with water you'll need to use one of those old-fashioned rubber sink stopper like this Do it Rubber Sink Stopper .I absolutely love my vessel sink and I love it more now that it drains completely.

I'm pleased with these drains and would buy them again if I needed to.
While the "ORB" finish could be improved and the gauge of metal could be slightly heavier, I am pleased overall with the final results of installing these on my six hammered copper non-overflow sinks. I found that you need to wrap pipe tape three times around the threads of the inset pipe in order to prevent it from leaking. There aren't many threads and the feeder sleeve does not particularly fit tight unless you torque it down firmly.I needed to replace the former popup drains with these "Daisy" capped drains to avoid the possibility of any unwelcomed overflow. All work very well having just finished with the installations. One critic mentioned that his sink backed up and then "whoosh" drained suddenly. I had only one sink where I observed a similar result. When I turned both the hot and cold on full to test for leaks, one sink did ultimately back up to the point where the water was about four inches deep, where gravitational force would drain the water. As soon as I turned the water off, the water drained out. At normal water flow, there was no backup of water in the sink. All the other non-overflow sinks worked perfectly. I used the ORB silicone sold by Amazon and the final results came out perfectly.

I soooooo wanted to love this but.....
Firstly, this item is absolutely gorgeous with an attractive even finish that worked perfectly with my hand hammered copper sink, also purchased on Amazon. It fit great and was very easy to install after cutting off the tailpiece a bit to snug things up.Opened the faucet to check for leaks and that's when things didn't go as expected. The sink filled with water almost to the brim then 'whooshed' emptying in a couple of seconds or so. Then began to fill again. Hmmm, since I love building science, time for research :-)So what was happening was the air that occupied the space inside this drain was trying to escape at the same time the water filling the basin tried to enter. Holes in this drain were large enough for one of these activities but not both. Running my finger over the holes to break the water surface tension led me to the answer. Loosening the drain's fitting below the sink while the faucet was open proved it did drain great as long as the air had somewhere to go. This condition is abated if the sink has an overflow drain since that gives the air someplace to hide while the water drains. But any vessel or non-overflow sink will experience this condition. The only option is to provide an air escape on the front side of the trap (requiring reduction fittings and an air admittance valve) or replace the drain with an umbrella type that has enough space for both the incoming water and escaping air. This is the track I took. The new drain works perfectly.I wanted to give this six stars but since I had to toss it and buy another item I just couldn't being myself to do that.

Good product
I like the drain but it was a hair to big…. Might’ve been the coating on the copper sink that made a tight fit. Some people might have just sent it back but I was able to file on the sink and made it fit. I would buy it again. Good quality.

Nice but wish ...
These worked for our Native Trails 30" copper trough sinks and were received on very short notice (THANK YOU)! But, I wish they offered these in a POLISHED nickel finish too. We had 2 sinks installed and had to last minute order these as I had a major brain fart and forgot the darned drains when I ordered the Native Trails sinks ... NT lead time is WAY too long when you need something in a hurry.

Nice, functional
Great quality. My sink drains very quickly. However it is worth noting that this is a two piece product and mine leaked at the joint. Some thread tape should fix her right up. Other reviewers say their finish is bad. Mine was great and they even colored the washer that's under the sink. Really wish it were out where people could see it. Cool looking washer. I digress..

Couldn't get past the "oil rubbed" finish...
My criteria for a drain for our half bath was: (1) oil rubbed finish to match the faucet, (2) preferably a grid drain to prevent overflows.Unfortunately, I never took the opportunity to test the function of this grid drain. The oil rubbed finish was... laughable? Well, my comments in the merchandise return section said, "it looks like a child applied this finish." Actually, it looks like I took an oily rag from the shop bench and gave the tail piece one quick swipe. Total barber pole effect.Anyhow, if finish is important to you, be warned. I was ready to like this drain because the threaded section is so much shorter (i.e. fewer threads hanging down under our wall mount sink) than the Kraus PU-10 pop-up drain we ended up with, and because there weren't too many choices for grid-type drains. But I just couldn't get past the awful finish.
