3-in-1 Care-Kit

My year and half old teak sofa was covered in black spots of mold/mildew. I wanted something that would last longer than the teak oil I've been using and wouldn't feed mold/mildew. After application, it doesn't look as nice as right after applying teak oil, but I'm ok with that if it lasts longer and doesn't encourage mold/mildew. This color isn't really orange like some others have commented, it's more yellow/brownish. I think it could do with a bit more red color in the finish to make it more similar the the finish achieved with teak oil, but it's not a bad color. The cleaner seems fine too, I did have to scrub a lot and didn't achieve a perfect result, but it looked a lot better after cleaning. This kit provides a lot of great scrubbing pads, application cloths. The sandpaper seemed a bit thin though and tore easily.

Every year I swear I’m never going to buy teak again. It’s a ton of work; but you already know that. Or you will soon enough. In the past, I’ve done a light sanding to remove the grime and then a couple of protective coats. Golden care has the best color in my opinion. Using the cleaner this year was much easier than sanding. The kit comes with some good tools but I found a marine grade teak Brillo style tool to work best for the bulk of the job. I cut the included cloths to apply the protector which absorbs nicely and streak free. In the pic you can see one chair as is, the middle one using only the cleaner (and a good scrub) and the first chair is with one coat of the protector. Only 6 chairs and a massive table to go… only complaint is that I have to do this job every Spring. The teak sets we have under patio cover can go a few years before needing a refresh but this set sits under the hot Southern sun and gets a lot of debris from nearby trees. This kit should last for two full uses (8 chairs and table). May your back stay strong and your elbows greased.

I was very pleased with both products, the cleaner and the protector. I used a different product in the past that left my tables orange and gummy. After stripping and sanding the old gunk off, I washed the tables with the cleaner to be sure everything was off. I was concerned that some reviews said the protector left their teak with an orange color, but that was not my experience. I was careful to shake the product often and I worked on one section at a time. The color is very close to the original color when I bought the tables. I was also concerned that I might not have enough product to complete my project, but I did two "card table" sized tables and a two shelf buffet table and still have about half of the bottle left. I think I will have enough to re-apply next year if necessary. I only completed the project a couple of weeks ago so I can't speak to the quality of the finish over time. My furniture stays out all year in the southeast with very hot sun, high humidity and rain. My plan is to wash it and re-apply protector each spring. A much easier process than removing the previous, unsuccessful product! I am very happy with my results using the Golden Care 3-in-1 Care Kit! I was not compensated in any way for this review. We purchased 3 of these sets to clean and restore a Westminster Teak octagon patio table with 4 high back arm chairs, a very large completely teak umbrella stand, 2 large high back rockers and two small side tables/benches. We had not touched the furniture, which we keep covered, in the 9 or so years since purchase. All the furniture had turned a light grey, which I particularly like. However, it was time to clean, restore and protect all pieces, which we did. The Golden Care worked well, and the restored color is very close to the original color and looks lovely. The one area that absorbed the Golden Care a little differently, were the pieces of Teak used to border the table. The grain of those pieces became a bit raised and were not as smooth as the pieces that comprised the rest of the table. However, they were easily sanded a bit which resolved the difference. The kit includes some sandpaper for this reason. Because this is a water based product, which Westminster Teach recommends as opposed to oil based products, there is no residue. We will have to wait to see how well it lasts. As far as use of the product, we would recommend it. How longit lasts remains to be seen.

We have a set of outdoor benches that are about 13 years old and wanted to revive them for an outdoor wedding that we were hosting in our backyard. I kind of like the grey patina on teak furniture but the product that this company makes for that is difficult to find and order so I went with this. Found the instructions easy to follow and it was helpful to have all the products in the box with the necessary tools. It did a nice job. The pieces look much newer. I did do some light sanding. It did turn the wood a more warm color but I did not find it to be the obnoxious orange color that I wanted to avoid. My experience is that the sun will mellow it fairly quickly anyway. Still have enough product left to do the set again. This is the second or third time that we have used Golden Care over the years and I do think that it has helped to extend the life of the furniture that has been left out doors, even in the winter. Looks so good right now I may need to bring it inside this year!

Easy to use.

I had to buy this whole set to do a teak tea cart! It was way easier than I thought it would be. The cart has been restoredto look like it is brand new. I have had it in the yard all summer and it looks like the day I did it. I just use a cloth with a little water to get dirt off. Highly recommend. I have enough to do a room full of furniture.
