Accuracy of this tach is amazing----I tested it with an electronic function generator before installing in my boat -- it is spot on. I like the feature of being able to set the dial backlight color. Excellent product, I strongly recommend. PS: other reviews are correct....it does not work with a negative tach pulse (I tried it), must be positive. Also watch the wiring---the colors used for power are not US standard....For example, I think ground is blue (not black, as would be expected). No bouncing around of the needle like you can get with other marine tachs. It is a "stepper motor drive", like what is used in automotive tachs and speedometers.

This thing is junk. Apparently it doesn't work being wired to the negative side of the coil like every otger tach known to man. The only thing worse than the tach itself are the instructions provided, they are in Chinese and for a speedometer. Stay away
