Review: Grandson loves Gruffalo and Room on a Broom DVD - Entertainment Review: I enjoy Julia Donaldson's writing; I think they are national literary treasures; this film sees her, sensitvely, extend the narrative of 'The Gruffalo's Child' to create a quietly told, beautiful storyscape: the look of the film is true to Axel's artwork and there are many lovely little backgrounds details. The soundscape is full of rich tones and U.K. dialects and the music simply sounds fabulous - rounding off a lovely little cartoon. My 4yr old son completely engages with the imagery and narrative; so, 5 stars from us. A 4K cut would be fabulous, though I know there is little chance my tiny voice will be heeded; a HDR version of both The Gruffalo and the Gruffalo's Child would be well received - after all, there's only so much buffering one can bear!
